If you met a baby named Owen James, would you immediately realize his initials are OJ/make an OJ Simpson connection? What if the last name started with S?

I wouldn't have. Is James part of the first, the middle, or the last? If it's the middle I definitely wouldn't worry about it because there's another initial following it and people are rarely even introduced with their middle names.

I think initials are something not worth worrying about, since any combination of initials could be something someone could potentially make a connection to. My son's initials are OD. Does that make people think of overdose? Or my other son is ND. Is he from North Dakota? What about if you have a girl? Are you going to stop her from marrying a man because of her future initials?

Yeah, I'm not even sure my kids extended family members know their middle names. We never use them, and so they would have only really heard it with the birth announcement. Wouldn't cross my mind!

@aprild: I generally don’t worry too much about initials (DS1’s initials are BS); I’ve just had at least two people in real life immediately make the OJ connection lol...it was fresh off the “confession” interview though

I think we’re leaning towards Harrison James now anyway, so this thread is kind of moot now. I appreciate everyone’s input and reassurance, though!
