i've always liked my name. i like the name and the meaning. i want my kids' names to have some meaning.

I've always wanted a unique name! I'm pretty sure I have the most common chinese American full name ever. Growing up I've always known multiple ppl with my full name. And I didn't have a middle name until I got married so I was so generic! I def want my kids to have unique names. The only good thing about my name is ppl never misspell or mispronounce it.

I LOVE my name and always have. I've loved being unique and never meeting another Amnysti or anyone that's ever met another Amnysti. LOVE IT... LOVE IT... LOVE IT!

BUT When I was pregnant with DS I was pretty stressed about trying to come up with a girl name (if I had a girl) b/c I felt like I couldn't name her something super common or simple.

This go round it hasn't stressed me out at all, but we still can't think of a girls name. lol I do want something not THAT common though... and meaning is really important for us.

I always hated my name growing up...especially the first day of school because the teacher would always pronounce it wrong. I just wanted to have a regular name like all the other kids. As I got older, I grew to like that my name was different. Now that we are living in Tokyo, my name is a very common name so I always hear it. I wanted our kids' names to be easily pronounced in both English and Japanese.

I always hated my name. I have one of those names that was popular in the 80s, so there was always at least one other girl with the same name as me in my classes. It's not one of the SUPER popular ones, but it was still up there.

I am determined that our kids will have less common names.

My name is old-fashioned and cute. When people hear it they smile. It's never been on a top ten list, and okay, people do name their pets with my name, but I like it a lot. I've only met one other person with my name, and we lived down the hall from each other so I went by my first and middle name for that year, not a big deal. My name is Daisy May (told you it was cute!).

I've always loved my name. Kelly is not very popular here in Canada (whereas it is in the States) so I barely knew any Kelly's throughout my life.

I want my kids to have unique names. Not too weird but uncommon. Makes you extra special. On the other hand my younger sister Shereen, always hated her name because people never pronounced it right.

I'm not a fan of my legal/Vietnamese name-- it has a lot of meaning (my mom chose it/made it up), but no one besides my parents call me it. Or sometimes my close friends/hubs call me it to tease me.

I do like my "American" nickname that I go by.

I hated my name growing up. 'Yin' just screams Chinese, and I didn't exactly embrace my cultural backrgound. I just wanted to blend in with the Katie's and Emily's.

Now that I'm older, I have grown to like my three letter name. I like my name so much that I kept all three parts of it and added my husband's last name -- also three letters.

I HATED my name growing up because it's the same as the big-haired Mrs. Bundy from "Married with Children." Kids used to tease me and call me Miss Piggy...Awful.

Now...Well, I'm 30 years old and I'm kind of too old to care.

I used to wish I had an ee sound at the end of my name (Ashley, Katie, Emily, etc) and thought my name (Rachel) wasn't 'girly' enough. But now I actually really like it - it's popular, but not too popular, and my married last name ends in -ey, so I'm grateful to not have that -ey first name I wanted (-ey overkill!)

I used to hate my name because people always say it wrong. Well they say it corrrectly, but as if I was French, they stress the syllables incorrectly.
I'm determined my kids will have unique but pronounceable names.

I love my name. It is unique but not weird or unheard of. I tend to get a lot of compliments on it! I guess my parents did well. (It's Clare btw)

I used to hate my Korean name (Hyojin) because it sounded country-like and rustic to my young ears. I wanted a prettier, more common name like Yuri or Sowon. There was also the fact that most non-Koreans have a heck of a time trying to pronounce it! Only when I reached my twenties did I start to love my name, and it's actually starting to become quite popular in Korea right now with two celebrities with the same name!

As for my English name Jenny, I've never liked it much either. Believe it or not, it was given to me from the secretary at the elementary school where we first registered when we moved to the U.S. — she couldn't pronounce "Hyojin" so gave me an English name of "Jenny" instead. I always thought that the name is too common and not-too-special, but many have told me that it fits me.

I like my name, although it's pretty popular. In college, I was once put in a group and three out of four of us were Katie. haha I could go by Katherine if I wanted to. I'm not too worried about popularity when naming our kids. My mom said Katie wasn't popular at the time she named me, so you never know.

I love my name: Desiree (accent over the 2nd e)

I do now. I hated it growing up but I like to think I've grown into it. Of course, hardly anybody calls me by my name-most people use my nickname.

I love my name- Brooke. However, there was a time when I wished it was Brooklyn. However, I don't like being called Brookie, but that is about the only nickname people come up with for Brooke!

I always went by a nickname and not my real name. Well, legally, I did. I always told the teacher I went my nickname.
My first, middle and last name (maiden) were all hard to pronounce. I legally changed my first name to my nickname and combined my former first name with my middle name.

I love my name, Tana. In school I had a lot of trouble with teacher mispronouncing it (it rhymes with Hannah), but I never cared. I like it because I have never met anyone else with the same name. I have seen the name in other places though.

I think having a somewhat unique name has made it hard for me to decide on baby names. I want my kids to have the same experience I did, that is not having anyone else in their class with the same name.
