Can someone walk me through this - how do you get your LO to latch deeply using this position?
Normally we cross body hold and I'm all bent over trying to shove my boob in her mouth - I can't figure out a good way to do that with her on top.

I used to get LO latched on and then recline. I never laid completely down, just leaned back on pillows. You definitely should be bringing baby to boob, not boob to baby, though. It will be much more comfortable for both of you.

I latch him on and lean back against some pillows. If I can I bend my knees and it helps hold him there.

Same as @Weagle: I would get her latched and then lean back, but never completely flat on my back.
