I just got the call from my breast pump supplier that my insurance will cover a manual or electric pump up to $300 so all I have to do is pick one out!
I will be doing a lot of pumping as I will be going back to work full time after maternity leave.
Help me choose!

i used ameda purely yours and like that it's a "closed" system so someone else can use it in the future. however, i will say that i didn't use the ameda bottles/parts because i found them more complicated than medela--i kinda squeezed the medela parts onto the ameda system.

I have the Medela PISA (came with the tote) and I love it. Lots of storage, discreet, and comes with a second little cooler bag with an icepack for traveling home with your bottles. ETA: looks like the freestyle now comes with a tote and cooler too! that one sounds great.

I have had two, a used Hygeia and the Medela Freestyle. When the Hygeia died, I got the Freestyle, and I really do like it! Small and powerful, not terribly loud.
I'm glad I started with the Hygeia, though. A pump wasn't in our budget right away, so I wanted to make sure that BFing was going to work for us before I spent all that money on an open system pump. I actually only used a hand pump for a while before I got the Freestyle. Once it was clear that we would be sticking it out, I got the Freestyle and haven't looked back!
I'd also recommend getting a hand pump. They're pretty useful in their own way. The LCs at the hospital gave one to me.

I loved my freestyle! It's small, light and portable. It was great for at home during maternity leave and when back to work. I would highly recommend it.
