I have a really small milk blister on my right nipple. About the size of a poppy seed. It keeps growing over and the milk gets stuck, so I have a wedge sized lump in my breast. I keep having to pick at it with a sterilized needle so that the milk can exit, but the skin keeps growing over it. Anyone been thru something similar? I'm nervous about getting mastitis from picking at it so much with a needle.

I had recurring blisters... Be vigilant about exfoliating in the shower to prevent it from growing over. Also to keep it soft, you can keep a cotton ball soaked in olive oil tucked inside your bra. I never got to try this, but taking lecithin could help, or try to avoid rich fatty foods as that could make your milk thicker and make you more prone to the blisters..

@T-Mom: thanks for the tips. did you just use a facial exfoliator? or a loofah? its only started happening in the last week, and i don't know why! maybe i have been eating more fatty foods.

@SleepyMonkey: I just used a washcloth! But yeah maybe a loofah or something a little more rough would work even better, as long as it's not too too rough.
