I went to drop DS (8 months) off at daycare today ... his provider noticed he was congested and had a runny nose and said that she'd isn't supposed to let him attend if he has a cold. So I stayed home from work (which really stunk because I've only been back for 2.5 weeks) and took him to the ped. Doctor said he just has a normal cold. I asked if he was okay to go to daycare and doctor said yes, he doesn't have a fever and that if babies didn't go to daycare when they have colds/runny noses they'd never be there!

Not sure what DS's provider's reaction will be tomorrow. She's a family daycare with one other kid. Is this policy normal? The doctor said his cold could last 1-2 weeks. Obviously, I can't miss that much work!
