@808love: I just bought some last night, Walgreens was having a promo and I got most everything...except the glue sticks, which I forgot about, lol.

Just a PSA - there are some Crayola back to school packs and stuff on sale on Amazon today. It's their Lightning Deal today. They have some big classroom packs for like 60% off. Also some bulk boxes of glue sticks are on sale, but not as deeply discounted.

@littlebug: pet peeve of mine is that the small glue sticks are ALWAYS on sale for cheap - but both my kids need the large ones which are never on sale

@Mamaof2: Ohhh....my kids are too little for school supplies yet, so I don't know the difference yet. That's a bummer!

@looch: Honestly that kind of thing has been one of the reasons I was really sad to see my LO graduate from preschool! Her public school seems pretty nice and has good ratings as far as performance so I trust that things will be ok and all, but there were definitely some luxuries at her preschool that we will miss!

In case you need a pencil case, I wanted to drop off this idea I had: it's to use an ArtBin case, so that all the materials fit inside.
Also, if you need to write the names on things, I recommend a P Touch label maker.

@looch: for some reason we have to have zippered ones - they specifically say no pencil BOXES
so odd!

@looch: that's a great idea! Our list says that the pencil box "must fit in desk" but then give no dimensions. They sat at tables for K last year so I'm not sure what kind of desks they'll use in 1st grade.

@Pancakes: Just googled our normal sized boxes that almost all kids have. It is 5.3 x 8.2 x 2.2 inches . HQ Advance has some on Amazon.

@Pancakes: Those little boxes are a disaster for my son. He can't puzzle everything back into them, which is why I went with this solution. If it's too big, there is also a smaller version.
That is how kinder was as well, they had tables with sectioned bins where the supplies were kept.
