Hopefully, French Immersion, but if it seems like she wouldn't do well there, then English public school.

Public. We live in a great county for it.

We just moved and I chose the best district, second best elementary. We have really great public schools and I can walk her there!!!!! We might move 1 mile from here into the best elementary district (same hs) if a place we are considering opens next year (new apartments).

K starts at 4 here, so that's a plus.

Our neighborhood K-8 school is very good and is only a couple blocks from our house, so that's currently the plan. If we decide to be one and done, though, there's a wonderful private school that we'd strongly consider -- I just don't think we could afford to have two kids there. I'm not sure about high school, I don't love the public options but it's so far off, who knows how things might change by then. We'll worry about that when the time comes.

Not sure. LO is not even a year yet so I'll evaluate our options as we get closer. I feel like my town changes schooling options every few years. There are lots of small private schools that are the same are cheaper than daycare costs now, but there's also 1 elementary school that I've heard it good enough, and a spanish language charter school that I've heard good things about. And who knows if we'll even be living here then.

Public school.

We'll be homeschooling as her school years will be spent entirely abroad, but if we DO spend time in a country with a good Montessori school I would consider that option. We'll be using some montessori methods in our own homeschooling.

Public school

We live in the city in a horrible school district. At the present time, we are 2 blocks away from one of the best districts in the city. We are hoping that the lines will be redrawn by the time LO goes to school. If not, we will likely do private school.

Public. We paid more for a house in a good school district so we would feel comfortable with the public schools.

Public; we're both firm believers in public education. Our district is also amazing. Huge reason why we bought our forever home.

I would love to send her to a Waldorf summer program if we can afford it.

Public. DH and I both went to public school and we purposefully bought our home in a great school district.

Waldorf preschool and kindergarten, then public. We might keep her in Waldorf through first grade, but not after that (unless there are special circumstances).
The only thing that would impact this would be where we are living. Most places we are considering are within 45 minutes of a waldorf school, which is a commute I'd be willing to do. Linger than that, however, and I will seriously consider homeschooling through kindergarten, and then moving her to public.

Not sure where we will be when our future kids are old enough to go to school but I don't see anything wrong with public school.

I voted public, for K-12, but right now she goes to Goddard. We will probably keep her there until kindergarten. When she's a little older, we'll visit the local Montessori school to see if we like it any better. The location is a lot less convenient, but if we like it better, we'll make it work. When we bought our house, we purchased based on the school district. Her elementary school is considered a "Blue Ribbon" school, so I am comfortable sending her there.

The original plan was homeschool, and still is tentatively, but it will depend on the extent of her developmental delays, and how an actual school might benefit her. Also, if it seems like she'd thrive better in school than at home, we wouldn't refuse to consider the option.

Probably public at first. Our district isnt great, but the elementary school is. we're hoping to be in a position to move before she goes into middle school.

Most likely public. I was a teacher and am now working on an education thesis, so do a lot of education research. In most cases, there is little difference in the outcomes of sending a child to public vs private/charter etc, once factors such as the child's socio economic background and education level of parents has been considered.

At the moment we couldn't afford private anyway, but if we were in a position where we could, we'd rather still go public and spend that money on educationally enriching activities, such as travel, extra curriculars, trips to museums etc.

The only thing that may sway me is how the current US test them till they drop culture is in 5 years. I'm naively hoping it will get better, but the intention is for LO to get an education that will enrich her, and give her options for her future, not to teach her how to take tests really, really well whilst ignoring critical thinking etc. I am an anomoly and LOVE the more conceptually based ways of doing math though (often referred to as common core math), so that would sway me in the positive!
