We currently have one Zoli cup for water at home. I want to start giving Xander milk with his dinner to get him used to the taste before we transition him fully to milk. Should I get a second Zoli cup for this (like a different color)? Or would it be fine to use the same cup for both water and milk? What did you do?

I didn't want to use our zolis for milk bc I felt like it wouldn't get clean enough. Plus, the room he's moving into at daycare won't take straw sippys b/c of sanitation issues. so I have 2 spout cups too. Plus lots of other straw sippys.

@dagret: Ahh, our daycare has their own sippy cups, so I wasn't even going to provide them one, haha. But that's a good point about being able to clean the straw. With water, I never was that concerned, but with milk, I will be!

We have seperate cups for milk and water - milk never goes in the straw cups.

Agree with PP, milk never goes in straws at our house. Too hard to keep clean!

He uses straw ones for water (similar to a Zoli) and then Take and Toss sippy cups for milk.

@Adira: the first years spout sippys, munchkin click and lock straw sippys (the straw is bigger in those, but milk leaks out of straw sippys when it gets warm, sigh)

I have multiple cups that I use for both milk and water but definitely need more than just 1 cup.

I have two straw cups - one for milk and one for water. She never took to a sippy. We have brushes to clean out the straws and sometimes I do a deep clean in the dishwasher.

Straw cups are too much of a pain for me to clean so we just use take and toss cups for everything. As he gets bigger, I make the holes bigger so he sucks on them less and less. He has one for milk and one for water each day, the rest are either going into the dishwasher or coming out (we have like 6).

I use separate cups for milk and water each day, then wash them at night. I'll usually offer DS both milk and water during meals, and I'll let him walk around with the water sippy all day. The milk goes back in the fridge for later.

@Smurfette: I use the cups with bigger straws for milk...if they leak the dog licks the milk up. /TRUTH.

I use straw cups for milk and haven't had any issues. I make a water cup & a milk cup every morning. She has the water cup in her play area all day, and I leave the milk in the fridge until meal/snack time. She has all kinds of different cups though, straw & spout.

I was just planning on using straw cups (the same ones) for milk and water-- LO has only been drinking from straw cups and doesn't "get" how to use a sippy and I don't want to introduce them since I've read that straw cups are better for their oral development.

We use Take and Toss straw cups for milk and they are easy to lean. They're not leak proof, but our son is pretty good about not trying to dump it out.

@Smurfette: M never took enough milk out of the sippys so we went back to straw cups for water and milk. I have a little cleaning brush to clean inside the straw and they seem nice and clean.

We use straw cups for milk and water, but no milk in like Zoli. Milk only goes in straw cups that can be completely taken apart.

@Adira: I have a Munchkin one. I do like it but the straw is in three parts which is kind of annoying.

@Smurfette: @Adira: We use a different (even more leak-proof) straw cup for milk. LO doesn't do sippys. I am loving the ThinkBaby straw cup for his milk. It's pretty easy to get it very clean with a straw brush (essential for cleaning straw cups).

We have a thousand (ok not really) sippy cups. They're interchangeable.

@Smurfette: I'm not sure? My LO prefers sippy's to straws, so we use normal sippys the majority of the time.
@Adira: I use Playtex or Nubs sippy cups, and she likes them both! She prefers a harder spout than a soft one now that she's off the bottle.
