@Sams Mom: I've been keeping everything crossed for you. (* I look like a mad woman, here! π€‘π€ͺπ€£) I'm hoping the temps are due to a messed up thermometer... or are simply an anomaly.

@Kaohinani: your chart still looks really good! Wait another day or two and test again!!
Ahh I canβt see the other posts because theyβre on the other page. But @Samβs Mom: your chart looks awesome too!!
AFM: Iβm peeing WAY more frequently than usual. I think Iβm only 3dpo today so wayyyyy too early for anything but then I saw @yellowbeach: had frequent urination on her chart for 3dpo so remanining hopeful...

Not much to report on my end over here. No spike in temps indicating that I did actually ovulate. Just two and a half days of positive OPKs. I had lots of cramping and bloating yesterday (but not so much today), so maybe today is O day for me. I won't really know until I take my temp again tomorrow AM. Today will be four days in a row of BD. Lol... not for the faint of heart.

this is a really long thread and I've tried reading some of the posts but it's taking forever lol... so I was wondering those of you ladies that tested last week what were the outcomes?
coffee bean / 37 posts
what are the for sure ways to know when you ovulate? Are the test strips accurate or should I be taking my basal temp every morning?
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@QBbride: Thank you, hun. If my temps stay elevated and I feel adventurous enough, I may POAS on 11 dpo. We will see.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@cstanton13: The test strips are accurate at indicating your LH surge, but women ovulate anywhere from 12-72 hours after the initial positive; so the easy way to confirm ovulation happened on X date is to temp. But the downside to that is you won't know until after the fact. CM is another telling part of tracking O, and some women check their cervical position, but I haven't done that so I am of no help on that front.
cherry / 107 posts
@cstanton13: Some people temp and use opks. Some people use just opks. I personally have been using cheapo opks. You can also track cervical mucus and cervix position.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Berly: earlier than I should to be honest, but I don't expect a realistic result until 11-12 dpo
pear / 1728 posts
@Berly: I used to start testing at 8 dpo (which is really early) but now I wait until about 14 dpo. Testing early messes with me mentally/emotionally.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@cstanton13: To respond: Using OPKs will show you when you receive your LH surge BUT not IF you actually DO ovulate. Technically, one ovulates 12-36 hours post surge. Some women even get multiple surges per cycle. Taking one's BBT is a way to ensure that OV (ovulation) did occur as a temperature shift to higher temps for 3 consecutive days after an LH surge denotes positive OV. ALSO - Most women also check CM and CP ( cervical position) to identify ovulation. The only problem with cm for ovulatory purposes is that bouts of "fertile" cm (watery or EWCM) can be seen periodically throughout a woman's cycle due to hormonal shifts. Cervical positions are decent in telling when OV is to occur; however, each woman is different (eg "high and soft" for one woman is "medium/medium" for another) and the cervix changes after child birth. Many women use ferning kits (saliva ferning) to gauge ovulation; however, there is a degree of difficulty in discerning ferning patterns with accuracy. Day 21 progesterone tests can verify ovulation has occurred, but, it is after the fact.
My best response- Do both for the most accurate way to determine if and when you ovulate. Happy Tracking!

@Berly: Honestly, it depends on the cycle. If I'm REALLY hopeful and don't want to jinx anything, I'll wait it out past my POAS date (which I put as 12 dpo since I have a 12-14 day Luteal Phase). If I'm doubtful or less invested, I'll POAS starting on 8 or 9 dpo as seeing the d#mn BFN that usually induces a mini-depressive state, won't. I keep my expectations low and count myself out by 15 dpo. This cycle, I POAS this morning (9 dpo) and NADA.

Hormones are nasty little buggers. Mine have made me only want to eat pineapple
and variations of pizza
(* GF wrap with mozzarella and sauce, GF vegetarian pizza w/bacon [a bit oxymoronic, eh?
], GF Ital bread with pesto and 3-cheese mix, AND cheesy supreme bread sticks with a side of my M-I-L's marinara) for the last THREE days!!! I'm thinking about supper tonight ... I want, you guessed it ........
and
! (*shrugs*) It's better than the vinegar chip and sauerkraut affinity I had last month!

@Kaohinani: Do you always get cravings in your TWW? That is some serious cravings!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: I do get "cravings" but they are generally for tastes/flavors like salty or savory foods and not weird or oddly specific day after day (eg. Salted tomatoes, salted hard boiled egg, kale salad with mozzarella and citrus vinegarette, or a tostada with melted cheese) . One exception has been my Clomid cycles. I crave more vinegar-based foods during those. This cycle has been very specific - Pizza and Pineapple (but never pineapple pizza. π€ Hmmm. Weird. That doesn't do it for me. ).
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: The fact that it's not pineapple pizza is weird. 2 birds one stone kind of thing and all.
I am now feeling like a clomid month, pissed off puffer fish ovaries and all.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: I eat a slice of pineapple with my morning coffee, at lunch, and after my "pizza dinner." IDK why pineapple pizza doesn't appeal. Super weird. π€ͺ
Oh, no! I thought you were able to bypass the p#ssed off pufferfish sensation!!! That's not cool ... although (being positive here) maybe it will give you the most amazing OV ever and you will get your sticky baby bean!
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: hopefully so, and I'm really banking on the better uterine lining that is rumored to come with Femera over Clomid
nectarine / 2648 posts
@Sams Mom: ugh sorry to hear the Femara is turning less pleasant. Hopefully this is the worst of it for you.

Definitely just think my hormones are still out of whack. Iβve had a good amount of ewcm again today, but opk looks like this, and I have a teeny tiny bit of spotting (wouldnβt have noticed except checking for cm). I get my hcg checked tomorrow, hopefully my period is starting and I can get going in a few days.

@LAZB: hoping for a negative for you tomorrow! (Ha sounds so backwards saying that). Thinking of you

@yellowbeach: we are going to go and hope for the best!
@Kaohinani: I think I'm going to try the Rael from Amazon since I can get it on Subscribe & Save, and you like them...
@SupernovaJ: wow 4 days in a row! I applaud your efforts (and energy)!!
@LAZB: good luck with your hcg test later today!!! hope your levels are close to 0!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: Fingers crossed and prayers for a big zero on you HCG today!
@Starlitsky: I think you will like them as they are super soft, have no chemical odor, and absorb well. With my light cycle, if I wanted, I could use 1-2 in a day. My only advice is not to be put off by any "fuzzing" hours after use (worse if you shave) ... almost all cotton fem products leave a fuzz or two behind on your lady bits (Just like all natural diapers do. ).

I'm sorry to disappoint, but the other shoe has dropped. I'm out.
I started spotting late last night and my temp took a nosedive this morning.
I guess a May baby wasn't meant to be after all.
October, watch out, here I come!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
10 DPO - CRAMPS and bloat ... that's all, folks.
Temp increased by .04. Chart is triphasic which, normally, would be encouraging; however, I had one in May (see affixed pic 2) that resulted in a BFN. My positivity and my realism are at war this cycle.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@paranundrum: Oh, hun, I am so very sorry! Everything looked so promising! Are you feeling any better physically? I hope so.
P.S. I think I caught your cold π€§ ... as of last night, my nose started becoming blocked up and my eyes alternate dry (* SjΓΆgren's syndrome) and runny. Ick.
clementine / 811 posts
@Kaohinani: I was feeling hopeful too. Next time lucky, I guess (just like every month...).
I'm feeling a bit better, I've been in bed with a cup of hot tea for a good part of the past few days. That always helps.
I'm sorry you're feeling ill. I'll try not to sneeze on my phone anymore. I wouldn't want all of you to catch that cold.
nectarine / 2648 posts
@kaohinani: Iβll be optimistic for you even though you arenβt.
Nothing monumental on my chart this morning. Last night as we were getting back to our hotel room from a dinner event, DH said, βdid you test yet?β Which is ironic bc he gives me a hard time about being a POAS addict.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@paranundrum: You are a funny lady ... I appreciate your effort to contain your cold via "sanitary phone usage." I'm really glad you are feeling a bit better.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@yellowbeach: Thank you. I need a cheering section this cycle.
VERY interesting that your DH has become invested in your POAS endeavors! π€ That is awesome!
Heck, I can't wait for the results and I'm just an outsider in all of this! π€£ #TeamBFP4Yellowbeach

Well Iβm back ladies! Fingers crossed for BFPβs this month! I finally got a positive OPK today at CD 18. This is an unmedicated cycle.
No early testing for me though. POAS date is September 28th!

@Jessiemuller88: Welcome back, hun! I'm so happy to see you here! I hope all is well and that everything has worked itself out or is getting better as we speak. Incidentally, those OPK lines look fantastic! I'll add you to the board.
