DH is traveling this month from 8/27 - 8/31 so I'm worried about bad timing. We're going to BD 8/27 before he leaves and as soon as he gets back on 8/31 and hope for the best! I ovulated CD12 last month and if that happens again I'd ovulate right in the middle of his trip

@skinnycow: Woo-hoo!! Cheering you on. My last cycle was wonky. There was a three day window between peak fertility and confirmed ovulation so I really thought our timing was off.

Ovulation Date: 9/2 according to clue
POAS Date: 9/20 (AF was 5 days late this month so Iβm planning on waiting a few days after itβs due this time)

@skinnycow: thanks for starting this up! good luck this month!
My plan is just to BD as much as humanly possible before going back to work on 9/5

TTC Cycle: 2
Ovulation Date: Est Aug 21
POAS Date: Sep 3

Anything exciting you'd like to share: I'm trying OPKs for the first time. Each new baby seems to shorten my cycle. It was 30/31 days prior to my first, 28 between the two, and now 26 days. I'm trying to determine if the follicular phase or the luteal phase is shortening.
However, with 26 day cycles, I will get to POAS twice in August, if the first doesn't stick.

I'm waiting on a positive OPK. I don't know exactly when I will ovulate. At least, we managed to BD last night, even though I stayed up too late to do so. DH works until 10pm and I am supposed to get up around 5am.

Back again I don't know if I'll be able to poas in September, but I'll check in since I hopefully will
TTC Cycle: 4
Ovulation Date: who knows
POAS Date: ???
Baby #: 4 (third at home, our first son passed away and I've had two miscarriages)
Anything exciting you'd like to share: My HCG is hopefully dropping quickly, it went from 89k to 19k in a week, and that was last Friday. I go again for a check this Friday. I know It gets slower as the numbers get lower, so it's probably too optimistic to think I can poas so soon, but we will see.

Here we go again...
Cycle Day: 4
TTC Cycle: #72
Ovulation Date: 01/09
POAS Date: 15/09

The dates are estimated by FF, I'll update them when I actually ovulate.
The end of last cycle was a bit rough and I'm still in the process climbing out of that hole. Not feeling any positive vibes about this cycle yet, I'm guessing it will be a bit better once I get to the other side of OV.
How is everyone doing today?

@skinnycow: Thank you for moderating this! I'm in "limbo" with my cycle so I'm starting the Sept post for my cycle:
Cycle Day: N/A ... 3 days late. BBT dropped WAAAAY below coverline this morning so AF soon?
TTC Cycle: UGH, 34.
Ovulation Date: TBD ... this is a non-Clomid cycle so it will come CD 9 - 11 (* I have a short Follicular cycles due to short menses.)
POAS Date: Sadly, also TBD -- Please, mark me "TBD" and I will update once I OV. Thank you.
Baby #: 3
Best of luck, ladies! I wish you all far less "wonky" cycles than August brought and far more BFPs !!!

Man what a rollercoaster ride - we are looking at doing a FET (frozen embryo transfer) around Sept 3-5. This is a PGS tested, normal embryo, so my doctor is giving me a 70% chance of a - let's hope the odds are finally in my favor this month!
Good Luck Ladies!

@Kaohinani: No problem! Hopefully the late period means you're pregnant For what it's worth, my temp never drops until a few days after my period starts so I guess they can be slightly unreliable.
@yellowbeach: Those are great odds! Out of curiosity - did you have multiple normal embryos? Did you just select the highest quality embryo to transfer?.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@skinnycow: Thank you for the positivity. I'm leaning towards a late AF due to Clomid as it happened the last cycle I was on it. I just can't wait for AF to begin so I can get my "Cycle 34 Party" started and try for that baby.

So I am back! We were trying last year and we got to TTC cycle 6 and figured I need a break. It was really getting me down. I'm hoping this time around we'll be successful. I'm excited to share this journey again on Hellobee just like I did with my DD 6 years ago.
Good Luck Ladies!!!
nectarine / 2648 posts
@skinnycow: Yes we were lucky and 6 of our 9 embryos came back normal, 0 mosaics, and 3 abnormal (all of which would have resulted in MC). We told our RE today we just want him to select the highest quality embryo, regardless of gender (LO#1 is a ) - although he has the genders on his copy of the PGS report. I think we'll wait to see if we get a before asking about gender - or might wait and find out on NIPT like with LO#1. We shall see.
pear / 1728 posts
@yellowbeach: Interesting! I think I would ask for the gender as soon as I got a positive because I'm impatient like that

I finally got a positive OPK this morning on CD14. That means that my luteal phase is only 11-12 days. My cycle has been 26 days since I finished breastfeeding and got off birth control. It was 28 days before DD and 30 days before DS. Is this enough or do I need to do something to extend it? TIA
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Mrs. Toad: You should be fine. A 12 day luteal phase is absolutely normal and yields a healthy pregnancy. OBGYNs and REs look for 12 to 14 day luteal phase as an average as to what is normal and will produce the healthiest ovum (blastocyst when fertilized but not yet an embryo). Luteal phases may fluctuate by a day in either direction among cycles. Luteal phases under 10 days spark concern as they, generally, signal issues with progesterone. Most cycle length fluctuations are found during the Follicular phase due to changes in menses length, hormonal fluctuations, prolonged ovulation, or deficiency in vitamins. You should be okay, hun.
pear / 1728 posts
@Mrs. Toad: 12 days is totally normal! I think it's only considered short if less than 10 days.

@yellowbeach: Wonderful news! Good luck!
It's CD 6 today and due to my lack of enthusiasm in the beginning of this cycle I need to start hustling now. I'm out of OPKs and need to order some more ASAP! I should get them on Monday or Tuesday if I do it today, hopefully that's not too late...
I hope you don't mind a random rant, but I'm a bit fed up with one of my co-workers. He's always late. Always. He was an hour and a half late this morning. He has worked here for about three months now and has been on time twice. He has a new excuse every time, the latest few being:
"I lost my phone, I don't have an alarm clock anymore."
"I use an online alarm clock, but the bill was not paid in time and the service was turned off."
"I use an online alarm clock, but my speakers broke so I didn't hear it."
"My mother bought me an alarm clock, but I forgot to set it and slept in."
All legitimate excuses, sort of, but not when used all in the same week...
I get it that he's still relatively young (22 or so, I think) and lives at home, but come on!
At last he's getting paid by the hour and doesn't have a set monthly salary. Also we're not that busy yet, so he's not missed much in the mornings.
*end of completely random rant*

@paranundrum: Ranting is fine ... we all need to vent frustrations from time-to-time. That's pretty crummy of him! Has anyone brought his tardiness and lack of concern for policy to his attention?
@skinnycow: How has this cycle been this far for you? I'm hoping well. I began AF (kinda) today. It is so super-light that I'm questioning if it is actually CD1. Of course, the cramps are so bad they are radiating to my back π€ ... so it's not just spotting. I'm going to count it as CD1 and hope it isn't a scant 2-day AF like I had last month. The count down to OV begins! . Incidentally, speaking of OV and POAS, we need to add "Patientlywaiting19" to the POAS list for 9/20.
persimmon / 1141 posts
@yellowbeach: That is so fascinating. I don't know too much on the specifics of IVF although I have several friends who went through it or are currently in the process. Didn't know you could find out the gender! I'm very excited for you! 70% chance is really good.
persimmon / 1141 posts
@Kaohinani: AF is due for me today but so far, no sign. I REALLY want it to get here already!!!

@SupernovaJ: I'm keeping you in my thoughts and have my F'x that your AF begins soon so your new cycle can start.

@Kaohinani: Sorry to hear about AF and the back cramps! I had those this month too.
AF ended for yesterday for me and now it's CD6. We'll probably BD Sunday and Monday before DH goes out of town and hope I don't ovulate until he gets back!

I have been using OPKs to determine when I ovulate. I thought I had a positive yesterday morning, but I took another this morning and it looked the same. I took another this evening and I think it looks the same as well. I'm concerned because AF is due on September 3rd.
The top is yesterday morning. The middle is this morning. The bottom is this evening.

@Mrs. Toad: they do look very similar, I would count the first as your + and then ovulation follows in 12-72 hours. Maybe you're one of the women with long surges.
ETA I don't think the last one is positive, it's on the downhill probably
nectarine / 2648 posts
Ok ladies - so my RE plans to do an US on CD13 when I get back from Vegas (I think if I were in town CD12 he'd prefer to do it then), to check if I am ovulating. He told me to take my OPKs with me to Vegas and start testing. DH and I aren't going to BD this month (for a multitude of reasons, one of which is his recent CMV infection) but I'm just checking OPKs to help gather more data to decide when to do the embryo transfer. As I think I mentioned, I've never tracked OPKs before. I have with the digital CBs and some Wondfos and of course plan to take both (can't get enough POAS, right ) but I'm wondering what CD I should start testing? I was thinking maybe CD10?
