@Mrs. Toad: I think I agree with @SamsMom, but see my post just a second ago where I mention having ZERO experience with OPKs

@yellowbeach: I would start testing OPKs 5 days before anticipated O? Then switch to twice a day (afternoon and evening usually) about 3 days before or when your test starts getting close to positive whichever comes first. CD10 should be a good starting place
pear / 1728 posts
@Mrs. Toad: I would also count the first as positive. The others don't look as dark to me.
pear / 1728 posts
@yellowbeach: I usually start on CD10 and I typically ovulate CD14. You may want to start earlier just to be safe!
grape / 75 posts
Ahhh ovaries are stupid. CD19, no positive OPKs. CD14 was dark-ish (but neg) and had mild cramps, maybe I just missed it. I've been testing twice daily since CD8 so who knows.

Here we go again!
Cycle Day: 7
TTC Cycle: 37
Ovulation Date: est. September 9th
POAS Date: September 19th
Baby #: 3
This will be my first cycle using OPKs, starting next week. Don't really trust my cycles since this last one started extremely late, and worried that it has skewed calculations for ovulation and POAS. OPKs will come in handy!

@MrsDynamiteGal: Good luck! I'm with you on first time OPK use and not trusting the cycle.

For those not checking in on the Aug POAS board, my current wonky AF is a suspected very early CP as per a clinical blood test run this last week which showed higher HCG numbers than what would be found in a nonpregnant individual's system but still pretty low numbers (* very VERY early pregnancy). I refused to hear the numbers (if I don't know too much, it doesn't "exist" ) and, since I refused to test last month, I had been blissfully ignorant of my CP until I received my call yesterday evening. I'm a bit numb.
At this point, I don't know where this leaves me for September. I don't know if I want to keep going with TTC for a cycle #34, or take a break (at this point TTC and tracking is all I know), or even if I will be able to this month... my OBGYN doesn't know if I will get back around 0 by OV or if I'll even OV this month. I'm a bit bummed out and wondering if it is a sign to just stop. I'm going to feel out September...

@Kaohinani: I’m so sorry to read this I haven’t been on the August board, but I’m so sorry to hear this update. I definitely know how upsetting this is, especially since you’ve been trying to long. Give yourself extra grace this week

What is it about looking at squinters that's so addicting? I just spent an hour on Glow looking at other people's squinters. Are we in some way living vicariously through others? I'm genuinely curious what fuels it. I know I'm not the only one - thought you ladies might understand and have some explanations
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@yellowbeach: I don't know what it is, some of it has to be commradrie/hoping that since others obsess as much as you maybe you're not crazy; and definitely some living vicariously through their tests.
grape / 75 posts
@yellowbeach: Definitely a case of 'if they got squinters, then maybe I will too!'. And then I pee on all the sticks for no reason

Just experienced my first loss this week, a chemical pregnancy during our first cycle trying for baby number three. It’s been a rough week for sure but starting with a clean slate for September! It’s gonna be a long month, haha. I’ll be temping and using OPKs. Lots of luck to everyone here!

@Kaohinani: Not that it matters much after these past few days, but about that guy at work - he knows that he's not acting the way he should, but that doesn't stop him.
Today he arrived two hours late with a brand new excuse:
"I set my alarm for 8 am, but I must have somehow set the time two hours behind, because it woke me 10 am instead."
We already told him, that he needs to come up with another explanation tomorrow, because that one won't work anymore.
The Big Boss isn't bothered by that so much, because as the guy gets paid by the hour, the company saves money when he's not here.
The Slightly Smaller Boss is bothered a bit more, because it's her job to call the guy's mother every morning to ask why his grown-up son hasn't shown up for work...again.

Eeek woke up in my skeezy Detroit hotel and tried to temp only to get lots of beeping but a blank screen. In to the trash it went. What are the odds the airport shop has a digital thermometer ? Anyone every Amazon Prime Now to their Vegas hotel room?

Sorry guys - I was MIA this weekend because I went out of town. CD9 today and DH left this morning for a business trip. He'll be back on Friday (CD13) so I'm going to obsessively take OPKs this week and hope for no positives!

@yellowbeach: I would maybe check with reception to make sure they don't have delays. My Amazon Prime deliveries sent to my office are always 1/2 a day late or so, since they need to be sorted in the mail room first before making rounds on all the floors.
Also just curious. Has anyone here ever looking into gender swaying? I've been curious about and have read up on it, but doesn't seem to be a popular topic on HB. I know for all of us, a baby is a baby and we just want a healthy pregnancy. I also think it's OK to have gender preferences too because once that baby is in your arms, you wouldn't change a thing. Since we are trying for #3, I've been considering swaying one gender versus the other, but would like to be Team Green for the pregnancy. If we get pregnant, this would be our last pregnancy and I love the idea of waiting for a delivery room surprise. Although I have read from several people that it wasn't worth the wait. Has anyone here been TG--are you glad you did it? Wouldn't do it again?
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@SupernovaJ: We were Team Green, and it was wonderful! It bothered some people, but since we didn't know the gender we didn't have to hear anyones opinions aside from congratulations for the most part. Also, for the first baby especially, anything big I got was gender neutral so i can reuse it, I got little clothes (which I was ok with) and honestly I can use the first few months of clothes again for boy or girl.
persimmon / 1141 posts
@Sams Mom: I figured that was one of the best things about being TG, not hearing people's opinions on the sex. Lol. We definitely would give it a shot, although I am not the most patient person.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@SupernovaJ: I am horribly inpatient, but the fact that it really bothered my FIL (whom I hate) that we weren't finding out what HIS grandchild was, made it worth it to me
persimmon / 1141 posts
@Sams Mom: Omg love that, LOL. That would definitely make it easier for me too.
