I don't know how to word the title quite right. I think I've always had a short breast-milk flow time (always about 7-8 min. and only on one side) and fast letdown. In the past month or so, K has been a distracted nurser, shorter nursing sessions, and/or funny latches sometimes (I'm sure due to teething). She now nurses on average, less than 5 min. Sometimes, she punches at me and tugs at my nipple, unlatch, latch, repeat.
I can tell my breast seems empty pretty fast. So I will offer her the other breast now too. But even if she's only nurses a few minutes, she always spits up A LOT. I mean, she gets it all over me, her, the floor, everywhere. So I wonder if offering her the 2nd breast is not good.
When I pump, the milk flow generally stops after ~ 4 min. It just seems a really short time for my milk flow? I can try to pump for 20 min. trying for a 2nd letdown and get nothing. Anyone else experience this? My breasts have also shrunk smaller. I'm just scared this is signaling a decrease in supply. I've been upping my supplements and trying to pump at least once a night while she's asleep too.
