I'll try to make this as simple as possible. LO went on a nursing strike/early weaning at 10.5 months and is now 11.5 months and will only drink from a bottle/sippy. I have been pumping 4x a day, but am realizing she will be one soon and wondering if I should cut back to 2x a day or just stop all together after she turns one?
Is there any benefit to her getting BM after a year? I obviously would have loved to nurse her morning and night after a year, but since she won't nurse- is there any point in me continuing to pump? She likes whole milk and has been doing fine on that...
i'm in the same boat tho. i pump 2x a day now and make about 1.5 bottles worth. she gets the rest in formula. i'm not really sure that 1 bottle of BM is worth it. i'm starting to cut sessions and by 12 months hope to be completely done pumping!
I do not mind pumping in the morning or at night after she goes to bed, but hate doing it during the day/at work. as far as the wcm goes, when she went on her nursing strike at 10.5 months, I continued to just pump and give her that. but around 11 months my supply dropped (prob from her not nursing) and I talked with my pedi about it. He said since she never had formula, it made no sense to do that since we would be transitioning her to wcm only a month later- so he gave us the go ahead to try it and she never had any issues with it so far...
