Ok, hive, I'd like your opinions. We're out of town at my MIL's so I don't have a sleepsack with us. DD has been sleeping in the Merlin but with her naps today she started rolling in it consistently. I know she can move in it fairly safely because she can army crawl all over the crib in it, BUT she can't roll from belly to back. The problem is that the room we are in is freezing! So what would you do?

Could you ask MIL to bump up the heat? That would make me nervous to have her sleep in the Merlin suit!
Or run to target to pick up a sleep sack?

@HLK208: The rest of the house is roasting! And I'm reluctant to buy one for two nights knowing we have DS's at home in many sizes. I'll take that as a vote for no Merlin

I'll just put her in two and cross my fingers. Ugh. Traveling and in a PNP and sharing a room with DS and DH and me is not how I wanted to Merlin wean.

Thanks everyone. I'll ditch the merlin, double up the jammies, and wish that she could roll from belly to back. How can a child crawl but not roll both ways?!

Ugh. Poor DD. She won't stop rolling onto her belly but she doesn't want to sleep on her belly.

@MrsSRS: my LO went through that phase and it sucked. It was like, if you hate being on your belly, just stop rolling! Lasted a few days but at least we were at home for it.

@MrsSRS: LO just got over that phase. It must suck to be doing it away from home. Does she roll to the right and the left? My LO only rolls to her left so we put her down against the wall of her PnP to diacourage her from rolling then complaining about it.

I would just dress her in a sleeper and co-sleep to keep her warm!

We ended up having to co-sleep when at the ILs the last few times because they kept putting us in the downstairs room, which is bigger and more private, but also so much cooler. We asked last time if we could have one of the upstairs rooms, and borrowed a safety heater for the room. He slept so much better in the travel crib, and I wasn't worried about him being too cold.
If you aren't willing to ask to be moved, I'd just suck it up and co-sleep.

@QBbride: @Astro Bee: we are cosleeeping after the first stretch (in a queen, my husband is crazy tall, blah) but DD goes to bed at 6:30 so she starts in the PNP. Blech. Crappy night. Naps disrupted by loud people today. I'm looking forward to going home tomorrow!

@MrsSRS: We ran into that, too, with naps and early bedtime. I was really annoyed at my inlaws at the time, and used it as an excuse to take a nap with him, since he was going through a particularly bad sleep phase. Another option would be to move the PNP up to the warmer part of the house (if it's not too noisy), for naps and early evening. Maybe use some white noise (sound machine or cell phone) to block the noise from the rest of the house.
