My LO is four weeks. She sleeps well in our arms, the bjorn or her car seat. She lasts about a half hour in the bassinet. The other night I put her in her carseat and she slept for 4.5 hours. I know babies are supposed to sleep flat on their backs, so is it horrible to have her sleep in her car seat at night?

Do you have a rock n play? Maybe she likes the incline and the tightness of the carseat?
I'm not sure about the safety aspect of the carseat but if you're uncomfortable with it, maybe a rock n play would be a good solution?

Do you swaddle her when she's in the bassinet?
ETA: I wouldn't let her sleep in the car seat. She still doesn't have good neck strength, so her airway could be compromised.

I agree with @septemberlove: try a Rock n Play. I wouldn't want my baby sleeping that long every day in her car seat.

I agree with @MsLipgloss... it's actually not recommended to keep littles in their seats for long periods of time (even as the get older) b/c they don't get good airflow in that position.

Are there the same concerns with their airway in the rock and play? We swaddled her in the bassinet and she still only sleeps for a short amount of time. We have a doctors appointment on Thursday so I'll ask about the rock and play

@brady80: Not that I've ever heard of... I think that the curvature of the incline in the seat may attribute to the concern rather than it just being inclined (like the rnp is).
