My 7 week baby girl has started sleeping 6 hour stretches at night. Sometimes longer. I read she should only be sleeping 4 - 6 hours. Should I wake her after 6 hours?

I wouldn't. My mantra is never wake a sleeping baby. Babies own't let themselves starve or get dehydrated...I hope...I at least try to remind myself of that.

@Tidybee: her brother was textbook at 6 hours so I never considered having to wake a sleeping baby. I keep checking to make sure she's breathing.

I understand. It sounds like you just have a good sleeper on your hands. I'd be a little more nervous if she was doing 3-4 hours and then all of a sudden jumped to 6 or more one night, but it sounds like you just hit the baby lottery

Enjoy it!!! My DD slept pretty long stretches at night until she was about 3.5 months. Then it all went to hell.

I wouldn't. My LO was sleeping 8hrs+ by 7 weeks. I'd just keep an eye on her weight...especially if you're EBF.

Nooooo. My DD was sleeping 8 hour stretches at that point. It was glorious. Let her sleep.

My rule is to not wake a sleeping baby unless we have to catch a flight. Haha! I would just let her sleep unless she isn't gaining enough weight.

No, enjoy it! My doctor said "let the baby sleep!" We had a similar baby, she just loved sleep. It was wonderful

Let sleeping babies lie! LO started sleeping 8 hour stretches at 7 weeks, and the first time he did it I was SO nervous but after that it was bliss. Enjoy it

I started sleeping "through the night" as soon as I came home from the hospital! Not entirely sure how long it really was, but my mom was happy. I still have higher sleep needs than average, but I turned out perfectly fine!

I wouldn't unless she wasn't gaining well. Enjoy the sleep while it lasts
