I'm 31 and am on the max dosage of meds and I'm barely responding. On day 8, estrogen was only 259. I go back in tomorrow to recheck and if I don't have at least 3-4 eggs, the cycle will be cancelled. Anyone have similar issues? This is killing me. All my initial testing didn't show any low ovarian reserve.

I'm sorry I don't have any experience with a low response, but I know people have had success with retrievals of low numbers of eggs. Seems like you'd have too many follicles for this route, but is your doctor considering switching you to an IUI?

@momazon: She didn't mention it. I guess I'll speak to her about it. I've done 4 IUI's already and none were successful. I guess it's a possibility.

This happened to me. I didn't respond well at all for my first cycle (1 egg) so my RE changed my protocol and dropped the Lupron for my second cycle because he thought it was suppressing me too much. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me but I had low ovarian reserve. Sometimes it's just a matter of changing up stims/protocol. Wishing you the best of luck- I know how difficult this process can be.

What kind of protocol do they have you on? Do they think a microdose flare protocol could help for next time, if you end up cancelled?

@momazon: I was on an estrogen priming protocol. They had me take Estrace 2 weeks prior to my period. I was not on bcp's. I started 300 units of Follistim and 225 units of Menopur. On the 7th night of stimming, I added Ganilrex and have Been taking it since. When I went in today which is my 9th day of stims, I had a 16, a 14, and a 12 on my right ovary. The left side were still small. I'm waiting on my dr to call me.
What's a microdose flare protocol?

@LoveHope: I'm so sorry. What tests did they do prior to IVF? I switched clinics after failed IUIs and the difference between clinics was very surprising. My new clinic where I did IVF was so much thorough. My first clinic still had me diagnosed as unknown and my new clinic finally gave me a diagnosis of PCOS and DOR.

@LoveHope: Hey! This came up while I was doing some searching. I know from the IVF thread that they were eventually able to retrieve 7 eggs.
My situation sounds similar to yours so I find this to be hopeful. I'm on day 8 of stims right now and so far only 2 follies have shown any growth. Up until today they saw NONE. I also was on a pretty high dosage. But I am 35 so that makes a difference. On weds they changed my meds from 300iu Gonal-F & 150 Menopur to ONLY 525iu of Menopur (yeah, SEVEN vials a day) and no gonal-f. And that's when we finally see a tiny bit of growth.
My doc said we are hoping for a third to grow over the weekend and he has me mentally prepared for a Monday trigger and Weds retrieval. I am crossing everything I have that there is some major blossoming over the weekend and I end up with a good retrieval like you!
Right before retrieval, how many did they estimate you had vs the 7 they actually retrieved? -
I was a slow responder - I was on 300 of gonal-f for two weeks and I only had four follicles/eggs. One of them is an almost 3 year old now. Fingers crossed for you!
