Do I have the hungriest baby ever? Or should I be feeding him more solids?
At 7 months, out of one of the small jars, my kid will eat about half for breakfast and still seem hungry. He still gets all his milk feedings, so I'm not sure how much of the solids I should be allowing?
At 7 months, what is (or was) your baby eating for solids?

She would eat 2 2.5oz containers for dinner or 1 3.5oz container. Sometimes a 2.5 and 3.5. Then the same for lunch. At 7.5 months she was on three meals a day.

@scg00387: Thanks! I am always worried that he won't give me an indication. Up to this point, he would/will breastfeed FOREVER if I let him. He's never given me a done indication, he just stays on the boob forever. lol. I guess I was worried he'd do the same for solids. The only indication I've noticed was sometimes he will just start crying while eating, and then we stop. Except he keeps opening his mouth like he's hungry, but cries. I can't tell if that's a done sign because he keeps opening his mouth for more. *shrugs*.

I usually do 2 different containers each meal for variety and he will eat about half of both (or about 1/3 of a pouch). When he is finished he shuts his mouth and refuses to open or pushes the spoon away.
He used to do that crying thing and I never did figure out what that meant!

My daughter is almost 7 months and just started getting 3 meals. 1 jar/pouch for breakfast and lunch and 2 for dinner. Sometimes she cries if I'm not feeding her fast enough. She also cries sometimes and I'm not sure why so I'll take a break from feeding her and try again a few minutes later. At first I thought I was feeding her too much but her pedi said to let her take the lead.

@.twist.: R was the same way in the boob. R would cry sometimes as well so we would take a break and then she would be fine. She wouldn't open her mouth when she was done.
Also is he teething? If the spoon would hit her gums she would cry even though hungry cause she was in pain.

My ped told me that my gals would tell me when they were full--and we didn't experience that--they both ate until they got sick for a LONG time! So we would just use our best judgement and by the time they were about 12 months, they had both sorted out how much was enough!

@.twist.: R gets 4 bottles of 7 oz per day along with 2 solids meals of 4 ounces each at 7.5 months. She's a good eater!

@Smurfette: He might have been when he was doing the crying thing. Which he hasn't done in a couple day and I haven't noticed any teething signs over the lat couple days. So, maybe it was that! Our spoons are really soft and I try to be gentle, but I guess sometimes it doesn't matter!
@rahlyrah: Thanks lady! I think I'm going to have to try feeding him until he gives me some sort of indication! I have been feeding him more at dinner time because he just seems that hungry, and he seems much more satisfied when I stop.
@lucy123: Thanks! I definitely had to start shovelling it in faster for him because he was not impressed with how slow I was giving up the goods! hahaha.
@rahlyrah: oh, PS. What have you been doing for real food? I'm kinda scared to experiment and have stayed with wheat puffs... lol

@woodentulip: ugh! I totally feel like that's my kid. He just eats and eats!
@swedishfish: I wish I knew exactly how much milk he was getting, but I think that sounds close to what I need to do. I don't think 2oz is quite enough for one meal for him. 
I feel so bad now.

I'm glad you asked this because I've been wondering the same thing. Also how has it been 7 months???
At 6 months I give DS half a jar a day, but I'm wondering if I should move up to two meals.

@skipper2010: I was doing 2 small meals at breakfast and dinner at 6 months! 
and yea, I have no idea where the time has gone. Blows my mind every day!!!!

@.twist.: have you tried loading the spoon and handing it to him? that's how we fed LO chunky purees, and it made it really clear when he was full (he just dropped the spoon!)
