Love Godspeed! Have you heard Lullaby by Dixie Chicks? All of my kids fall asleep instantly when I play it.

They also like One Magic Kiss by Brandi Carlile.

Our bedtime song is Sweet Baby James (James Taylor). Bonus points for the lyric "if it helps you to sleep"?!

L has just started refusing all the songs I used to sing to him, and now asks for songs that don't exist. His most popular request lately has been for "candycane song" which is a made up song about candy canes, and it's different every time.

We have a playlist of quiet/relaxing songs we put on before bedtime, while we get ready for bed/do quiet play -- it's a lot of Beatles songs I sing him Wagon Wheel (Old Crow Medicine Show/Darius Rucker) every night as a lullaby. I love it because it reminds me of our college friends -- we all used to belt it out at parties whenever it came on the playlist.

Every night after reading, D asks to "nuggle" and then once we're all settled in, he whispers "Mama sing." I sing 2 verses of "Lullaby" by the Dixie Chicks, and then "Stay Awake," from Mary Poppins. My mom sang "Stay Awake" to me when I was little, so it's super special to me.

I need to branch out a little-- I always sing the same few songs. Mostly because there aren't that many songs I know all the words to! I always sing:

@Meridian: brahms lullaby! My words aren't like Jewel's, but this is her version (same tune as mine, but I basically repeat 'Go to Sleep, Go to sleep...Go to slee-eep my baby, Go to slee-eep, go to sleep, go to sle-e-e-e-eep!"

LO's favorite is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We are branching out to other nursery rhymes and kids songs now!
