I have been breastfeeding and pumping at work for over 9 months now. I had sore nipples in the first few weeks and one clogged duct, no other issues (I've been very lucky!).
For maybe two days now I've been noticing some soreness in my boobs, mostly the nipples. Sore while nursing, definitely sore while pumping, and then tonight in the shower, sore to the touch!
What's happening?

Shot in the dark...but is your babe teething? I get sore nipples when my LO is acutely teething. I think it's because her latch changes, and someone told me something about their saliva (more of it, or maybe a change in concentration?) can make them sore too.

@Silva: it's possible! He has two teeth so far and could be getting more! I'm sitting on the couch right now and when I shift positions my nipples hurt from my shirt touching them! 
I'm afraid it will just get worse!

@cmomma17: I would check...I mean, I know our babies are basically always teething at this age, but it could be the culprit. If it is, take heart that for me it's only happened for one set of teeth so far, and she has 7! I do remember breaking out the nipple cream for a while.

@maybebaby: ditto - if your cycles haven't yet returned this could be the start! My nips hurt every months from Ovulation start until AF start!

I'd take a pregnancy test to ease my mind and then would chalk it up to teething. Mine are always sore while LO works on new teeth.

No advice, but when my supply started to tank, I upped how much I was pumping, and for about a week, my nipples were pretty sore too. It eventually went away on its own even though I'm still pumping around the clock, so I'm not sure if it was related or not. Hope you feel better soon!
