Any suggestions for spelling games for a second grader? (Free) Online games preferred, but apps would be ok too. My otherwise very bright second grader is an atrocious speller, and I’d love to work on it with her in a fun way in the likely event of a school shutdown in coming weeks. Thanks!

I'm not sure if you need a subscription to NYT for this, but Spelling Bee is great - my second grader loves it. Of course, it's an adult game so many of the words will be too difficult, but he gets so excited when he finds some: https://www.nytimes.com/puzzles/spelling-bee

@msmilkshake: @ilovepie: oooh I forgot Bananagrams! Do you like the regular edition, or My First? I also have a 5.5 year old who reads/spells and a 3 year old who doesn’t (but knows letters) if that matters.

I’ve always used the original, but I’ve never taught below 2nd grade, it looks like My First could be worth checking out to get everyone involved!

@msmilkshake: thanks! I ordered “my first” for that reason....if it proves too easy for the seven year old, I’ll have her use scrabble tiles instead!
