We're going shopping for the last of our nursery furniture tomorrow morning (procrastinators, ahoy!), and have two options, to stay in our initial nursery budget:

Get a pricier, convertible crib, and craigslist/shop used for a glider

or

Get a standard crib (IKEA), and a new glider, in-store

We're loosely planning to TTC for # 2 in about two-three years, so we'll likely need to buy another crib if LO # 1 is using her convertible. But, if we reuse the standard crib, we'll need to buy LO # 1 a bed of her own (could also IKEA this, when the time comes).

Don't know what is preferred or more cost effective. Thoughts?
