We are really starting to think about how we are going to handle DD going to kindergarten. Currently we are living in the "city" and we want to move to a small town. Our current city does bus (a 10 minute ride) to a small school close to where we would like to move, however it's not our choice for the school we would like her to go too (which would be another 10 minutes.) We are trying to decide if we would do this and switch her once we move to the smaller town or figure out a way to opt her in to the school she will likely graduate from. Anyone been through this? Sometimes I hate "adulting"

When are you hoping to move? If it was within the first school year I would see about starting at the small town school, but longer than that I would just switch when it happens.

@regberadaisy: Yep, in our area you can opt in to different school districts as part of funding for smaller/rural schools. In our case these schools have better ratings than the larger ones in the city.
@cam: we want move out of our current house within 3 years, it would be best to move to the small town we want but financially I don't' know if it will be possible. Otherwise we will move to the other side of our current city so we can have the bus option to the smaller school.
