If you make your own baby food, what do you use to store it? Did you find old baby food jars or did you purchase something specifically made for homemade baby food?

Do you mean in the fridge just for a few days or in the freezer? My LO just started solids so I don't have my system down yet. My plan is to use plastic bags for the freezer, and for the fridge I have tiny tupperware that I'll use.

I freeze food in ice cube trays, pop them out, and store in gallon freezer bags. I label the food and expiration date on the bags. I defrost what I need in the fridge as we go.

We have 1 oz sized ice cube trays that I freeze the food in. Then, I freeze all the cubes in a ziploc bag marked with the date and contents.

I bought a Beaba multiportioned tray, I used it once, waste of money, but don't tell my husband that!
I generally don't make ahead and freeze, the 1 oz cube size didn't last long for my son and it's a pita for me to defrost (no microwave).

Babycubes were all the rage when first LO was a baby so were are using those again with 2.0.

@Andrea: Such a good idea! I registered for a bunch of those tiny tupperware containers-- I doubt we'll get them, so the ice cube tray will be a good alternative.

I love the beaba tray. It freezes well, seals well and u can pop them out individually. I think it's bigger than one oz and I use it as a bento now.

@HabesBabe: I had those tiny tupperware containers, too, and barely used them. It takes some patience to get food into individual containers but it is super easy to pour into an ice cube tray.

@mediagirl: I use a few different things. I have the baby bullet so I use the little cups & the freezing tray that came with it but I also use Kinderville storage jars (amazon has them but I got them when they went on Zulily for much less) & Baby cubes (also from amazon). I have a lot of freezer space so I luck out in that I can use the cubes, but you can also use the silicone freezer trays & then once they are frozen pop them out into a freezer bag & use the tray to make more food.

I'd fill ice cube trays, freeze them, and put the cubes of food in baggies in the freezer.

i used ice cube trays with lids - http://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Baby-Easy-Breast-Trays/dp/B0007CS4EU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1328303106&sr=8-2 - each cube is 1 ounce so it's easy to portion depending on how much your kid eats.
i also liked storing homemade purees in here - http://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Freeze-Reusable-Containers-12-Pack/dp/B002YQQQJW/ref=sr_1_5?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1328303137&sr=1-5 - because then i can just grab and go. each one is the same size as a storebought jar.
