Hello ladies-- hoping that you have some suggestions for me!
LO #2 is 9 months old and eats like a champ-- 1-2 pouches of purees 3x/day, a handful of veggies/fruit/pasta during his 3 meals, and he's never met a Cheerio he didn't like.
Unfortunately, this means he's been nursing less and less, for shorter sessions each time. We probably nurse 4-5x a day, and I offer both sides, but I don't hear him swallowing with every suck after I have my letdown (usually every 2-3 sucks, he'll swallow), so I know that my supply is going down.
I started taking liquid More Milk Plus (ugggghhhh), and I've taken the pump out from storage to try and get things going (plan on pumping 10 mins after each nursing session). To add to it, when he is around 11 1/2 months, the hubs and I will be going to Maui for a week without the kids-- I *think* I have enough frozen milk to get him through that week, but if I have a huge increase is supply, it'll be AWESOME now, but kinda crappy in 2 months when I have to stuff my pump into my carry on.
Any suggestions? I read that the majority of his caloric intake should be BM or formula, with solids complementing at this age (so, 75/25? I think we are more like 25/75, tbh). He almost plateaued weight-wise from his 6 month appt and his 9 month (only gained about 4 ounces-- but he's still 90th%ile), so his ped wasn't worried yet.
I guess I don't know what I should do!
