So this is my 3rd day off of BC in 16 years. Nervous, excited, scared! 6 months ago, my "AF" disappeared due to my BC (my MD said that was OK, common side effect with the prescrip I was on.) This morning I was experiencing painful, sore breasts. So sore that I couldn't fall back asleep after the cat woke me up. And on the train, I had to "hug" myself and sort of press on them they were so sore. Did anyone else experience this? ? I should have gone off BC sooner, if just a few days off of the hormones is making me feel so out of wack! And if your cycle disappeared, did it go back to normal?

I've been off of BCP for about two weeks now (After 11 years) and definitely noticed tenderness in my breasts. I also had terrible cramps and high level of CM. I also definitely felt the mental PMS symptoms of aggravation and annoyance!
I'm just about mid-cycle according to my gyno and am waiting for my first period off BC.

I stopped BC in August so we could start TTC. I've noticed that my skin is definitely breaking out more and I've had an increase in the frequency and intensity of cramps as well as sore breasts. My cycle has also been a bit out of whack going from 28 days to 33-34 days. Hoping my body is finally starting to regulate itself and I'll be pregnant this month.

Hmm, let's see, my skin got worse, my cramps got worse, my flow got heavier, my cycles were longer, my sweet tooth returned.
Immediately after going off, I noticed tons of twinges and cramps and activity going on down there. A few weeks after going off, I got insanely sore nipples that lasted for a few weeks. I had been on the pill for like 13 years...
My cycles going off the pill were like 35 days, 30 days, then would have been on track for a 40 day cycle but got pregnant (but miscarried). Then had cycles of 40 days, 34 days, 31 days, then would have had a 28 day cycle, but got pregnant (and stayed pregnant this time)!

In the secretest of secret hopes I'm thinking "wow, maybe this is Super Baby and it took literally one try". But I know it's just the BC symptoms, especially since you can't feel these things ONE DAY after baby-dancin' ha ha.

I had really painful cramps post birth control. They lasted for about two weeks. After that, they subsided and I got my period on a 27 day cycle. It's remained pretty consistent with a day or two difference here or there with stress or relaxation. I remember those first two weeks being pretty awful. It's been six months off of birth control and I couldn't be happier. Well, I'd be happier if I was pregnant, but that's another story.

I really thought my sore boobs were from my period until I got my BFP that month...
I was off BC for 4 months and just noticed the acne. OH the acne was awful...still is actually and I'm 9 weeks pregnant. I was lucky enough to keep normal periods while I was off BC.

Oh yes! They were not terribly painful, but NOT normal, twinges constantly until AF came the first time. Cramps worse than normal and also way heavier than normal! Not cool! Ugh! I just went off myself like two weeks ago and AF is here now! <sigh> not fun!

I went off BC 9 months ago and my skin has hooorrribble!! And I feel like my hair has been falling out more than before... And I don't have much hair to begin with! My cycle has also been completely erratic, as in every 3-4 months

my skin was fine getting off bc, then 3 months after I got off, my skin went CRAZY and was HORRIBLE. i felt like a teenager!! it is just now starting to get a little better. also, i have noticed my hair is falling out more now too! everytime i comb my hair after i get out of the shower, soooo much comes out! its crazy...thankfully though, my cycles have been super regular. 25-26 day cycles every time. also, my sex drive has increased as well, which is a plus

It's soooo reassuring to hear your stories of being in the same boat! @Alyb25: I'm hoping that my drive increases too! I'd forgotten that the pill suppressed mine. Well as a quick update, my boobs didn't feel like they were falling off this morning. Hopefully it stays this way!

Oh yeah, the skin too! I never have been one to break out much, even as a teen. But right now I want a pillow case over my head! ugh! What the heck! Someone else stated the othe rone I forgot to mention. sex drive too. That is better. I actually went off because I keep having reactions and have tried so many different BC in the the last two years. Been on BC for like 10 years and then all of a sudden the last two years my body has said "heck no ENOUGH" after trying 5 differnt kinds the last 2 years I finally said enough, went off of it and am charting now.

I agree about the sex drive thing. I notice it more post AF, early fertile window. My skin's been okay since coming off of BC. It was great on it, never really had acne problems in 10 years. I notice it more pre and post ovulation. It's nowhere near as bad as it was when I was high school. I'm lucky that my mom has really nice skin, so that's part of it.

when i was going off BC back in July i went through a ton of very difficult symptoms. my hormones were al over the place and i was very prone to the blues. i gained quite a bit of weight. i felt tired a lot of the time. it was quite a bit like what pregnancy symptoms are described as. i had more breakouts. i had a lot of issues with libido lowering while on the pill and just this last couple of months i am noticing my old pre-bcp libidos return. i seemed to have ovulated right away but i know many women do not. that's why i went off so early. i''ve heard it can take up to a year for some women to re regulate. best of luck to you!

My flow is ultra-heavy off BC, and I have stomach problems for a few hours the day before I start - but I'm done with AF in under 48 hours (still spotting in week 2 on BC - ugh). First week off, acne! But after that flare up, my skin went crystal clear, and stayed thus until I got back on BC. My mood goes back to ultra-chipper with an only-kinda-chipper lull just before AF (off BC, I have the emotional range of a teaspoon. On BC, I'm seemingly bipolar.) Headaches and stomachaches decrease off of BC. SO looking forward to February when I plan to stop hormonal BC.

I am currently starting cycle #4 post-BCP. So far, my skin has been terrible, and my cramps when I get my period are awful, as in, wake me up in the middle of the night awful. On the flip side, my mood and sex-drive has significantly improved!!! The thing that's bothering me right now is my long cycles. So far 36, 46, and 46 days. I'm hoping it's just the effects of coming off the pill and not an issue with my body...

I honestly can't tell what might be a symptom of coming off bcp or just a symptom of a new cycle. This is my first cycle off it, so I can let you know! I've been irritable this week, had some significant cramping last M-W (I think ovulation), but that's been about it.

I gained weight fast and a lot of it. I also had terrible cramps and very heavy bleeding...it pretty much makes you want to go back on them sadly!

My body went crazy when I went of BC in July, cramps, headaches, nausea, moodiness...It was pretty intense. It took a couple of months for my body and my mood to regulate itself. I even went to the doc to make sure everything was ok, apparently this is pretty normal, things have settled down now thankfully, I hated not knowing how I would feel one day to the next
