Clinic just called and doc wants to do one. Basically I'm really scared and don't know if I want to do it. The HSG traumatized me enough.....
Plus...why is she wanting to do this before any and all possible blood testing! As far as I know, I haven't been tested for thyroid issues yet...

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I have nothing to tell you about the biopsy, but seriously they haven't done any thyroid testing?!

I also have no experience with the biopsy. However, they definitely should do all the standard blood testing before going to expensive and invasive procedures! Can you talk to the doctor or nurse about it?

Apparently after the first mc my old ob/gyn did one thyroid test. I don't know which one. My RE now said she wanted to do a test for thyroid antibodies, and as far as I know it hasn't been done yet. (I've had blood tests since the last mc, but I think it was for karyotyping and clotting disorders only.)

@Mrs.Someone: right!? thats what I'm saying! Can we save the invasive stuff for a last resort?
The doc is supposed to call me on Mon, but I'll prob be a crying mess on the phone bc just the thought of it upsets me! I need to (wo) man up and tell her to either knock me out, or I'm not doing it. (For now.)

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Have you considered going to a different doctor? All of my doctors send me results of my tests so I have them for my records (and for Googling ;). It also helps me know exactly what is going on. Are the procedures done in your doc's office? Wondering if its a financial decision for them (ie. very irresponsible...)

@Mrs.Someone: Well I left my old doc and started going to this fertility clinic. (cuz he kinda sucked!) Since I'm in a country where I don't speak the language, im somewhat limited. The doc here (fertility specialist I guess) is way better then my first Dr and has given me printouts of other tests. I don't really know why she wants to do it.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I forgot you had the language barrier issue! Sorry you're having a tough time with this, I can't imagine adding that into the IF mix Maybe tell him/her how uncomfortable the HSG was and that you'd rather try something else first?

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Have you already scheduled it? Or do you think it would be possible for you to insist that your doctor explain why she wants to do it and do the other bloodwork first?
