I didn't double check my bag before I left for work this morning and only had one bottle in the bag for my double pump. I had to rig up a collection system for the other boob with rubber bands and a Lansinoh bag. I am not looking forward to pumping session #2.

@autumnlove: Male or female? Did you have a hands free bra? Because that would make it slightly less embarrassing if your breasts weren't completely exposed

@mrsjazz: Male. I wore a dress that day so I was in my underwear and pumping bra with fullish bottles of milk attached to me. We were both mortified!

@mrsjazz: Keep a roll of scotch tape in your pumping bag for those days. If you ever seen the medela pumping bags they have a tape strap to loop over the shield to hold it in place. You can do the same with the Lansinoh bags. After a while it maybe be your goto if you dislike washing bottles.

I didn't take any bottles one day. Luckily one of my co-workers was also pumping and had two extra she was able to loan me for the day (very close friend who I trusted sanitized them correctly). After that I started keeping a spare set of the essentials in my desk.

I dropped my pump at work one day and broke the tiniest little piece off that my tubing attached to that I of course HAD to have in order for my pump to work. I was still able to single pump until the part arrived but it was much more time consuming, especially for work.

I've forgotten bottles and rigged up to my storage bags. I've forgotten one pump and had to spend twice as long in there. I have forgotten the power to my pump (went home and got that). It was definitely an adventure.
I never was walked in on and I am grateful for that.

@Mrsbells: LOL! I called DH at work after it happened and he couldn't stop laughing! Luckily, my co worker is really cool and a Dad so I know he didn't intentionally walk in on me!
I don't wear dresses to work anymore!

No great stories, but I had to pump in the school infirmary, and the nurses told me kids were always asking what that noise was. They just told them, "it's a... device." LOL

@autumnlove: that's pretty funny...I just bought a couple cute dresses and I thought, I may need to lift up....but after I read that....um maybe not a good idea, just in case someone does see me. Good thing you both saw the humor in it!

Oh wow that sounds so embarassing!! I don't think anyone at my work pumps because there is nowhere to do it other than the bathroom which would be really gross since our bathroom is not nice and doesn't have a sitting area.

Quick question for those with a hands free bra and are able to work while pumping. Do you then feel comfortable billing that time? Currently I don't take a lunch to compensate for pump time. But I have been thinking of bringing my laptop and buyin a hands free bra so I can work while pumping.
It will be nice to not feel guilty for taking a lunch once in a while. Or go to Pilates during lunch hour!

@regberadaisy: Even though I bring my laptop in to the pump room with me, I find that I spend half the time watching videos of my LO and looking at her photos to help get the milk flowing and the other half checking and responding to e-mail (so about 10 minutes of work per session). I consider this my lunch break, even with the small time period of working, but I do allow myself a 10-15 minute walk since it's nice out.
