@cmomma17: thats so frustrating:(( does hr know they are required by law to give you a place to pump and adequate breaks to do so??

@cmomma17: I'm IN hr and was a working woman who gave up pumping bc of how awful it was at work. My boss tried to get me a space but the open office 'wasnt usable' according to one of our execs but I never saw ANYONE have meetings in there so I had to kick my boss out of her office 3x a day and I finally just gave up, I regret not making more of a stink though

I'm shocked they've treated you like this for so long. I like the idea of taking over a space with an in use sign. Are your coworkers as awful as your boss?

Hang in there mama. I think a week in the car is worth it to keep going. Your meeting with the president has to get something done.
When I came back to work, I was allowed an empty office to pump in. Soon, HR told us they needed it for "interviews" (which never, ever happened) so they kicked us out. Me and four other women pumped in a storage closet. We eventually got HR to build us cubicles so that we could pump two at a time and give us a fridge, but we had to threaten to go to our corporate HR first.
My point is, hang in there, take it as far up the chain as you need to until they give you an adequate solution. Often, this is an issue companies don't address until forced to (especially if HR is overseen by men, like at my job) but you're paving the way not just for you, but for women who are coming after you.

I admire you so much! Keep up the fight! You deserve (and are legally entitled to) a sanitary private location -- I'm sorry you are dealing with this!

I would totally just pump at my desk to make a stink until they found me a suitable room Ha!

ugh. this just makes me mad. I cannot believe you're still dealing with this.

It really sounds like to me that they're hoping you'll just give up and quit pumping so they don't have to worry about it. Which is completely wrong and unfair! Don't let them win!
