@BakerBee: haha, yeah, the package I have only came with 7 tests, so I have only tested a couple times with FMU so far and both times it was stark white. Next cycle (please Fertility Gods, don't let me get to next cycle), I'll buy a package of wondfos and test all the time!!

@littlek: I have no idea, but I'm totally jealous of you. It takes a whole lot of work to get me to orgasm!

My doc said no need to lift your legs in the air but also don't run up to pee or shower right away!

@winniebee: Do you know how long you should wait? I was prone to UTIs so i was usually quick to run to the bathroom. I've been trying to wait for 30 minutes, but it's hard!

@littlek: I did, feet up for like 10 minutes, pillow under butt/head for comfort. Last time I had a baby first try, so I would say it didn't hurt anything doing it & I will do it once we start TTC again

@septca: So wait - you use those softcups after BDing??

@Freckles: @winniebee: I wait 15 minutes before going to the bathroom... is that long enough???

    Anyone try fertility tea?

  11. littlek

Does anyone check their cervix? I'm not sure why but the idea scare the bejeepers out of me.

  12. littlek

@septca: Is it possible for the soft cups, to um get stuck?

  13. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@Freckles: she just said even 10-15 mins!

  14. Freckles

    honeydew / 7444 posts

    @littlek: It scares me too!
@winniebee: Ooh okay, good to know!

@Adira: Yep - they kind of hold everything nice and close.
@littlek: They do tend to suction a bit. The first time I used them (for AF) I *freaked* out, but now I have really good luck getting them out if I stay calm and take deep breaths. But breaking the suction is a weird feeling, I won't lie.

@littlek: and @winniebee: I used to check CP, but it's kind of useless after you have had a kid, just FYI. So I wouldn't even bother if I were you.

@littlek: umm no way no how. it freaks me out too.

  17. winniebee

@littlek: I don't do them too scared to try that! Checking cm is enough for me....

How much info do you give DH about O and timing? How about AF and testing???

  21. winniebee

@septca: last time around too much info I think! This time I don't have the info to share and I think it might be better.

  22. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@septca: At first not much. But since this process has been drawn out, I tell him everything. It's cute, he will be like what CD are we?

  23. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

I tell DH almost everything. At first he was weirded out, now he laughs at me but he brings it up too!

  24. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

Does anyone do SMEP or BD every day? We can't keep it up. Best we can do is EOD. I also read that it's good to do EOD because you get better amounts of sperm.

  25. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

What does everyones SO think about testing early? My DH is a fan of waiting till AF is late.

  26. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

I go back and forth on how much to share - too little and there's no urgency when we really need to BD, but too much info can suck the romance out.

@littlek: we tried EOD last cycle but started too early, got worn out, and suffered from the aforementioned lack of urgency... Ugh. This cycle I told DH that we need to hit at least EOD of a specific week.

My question is more of a request- for those who check cervical position I want to know the TMI details of how you do it. I don't know if my fingers are too short or I just don't know what I'm feeling for but I'd really like to hear the specifics of how people do it

  28. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

I kinda wish this was gold.....

    @littlek: I don't think it matters who O's first!

I also am a firm believer in bicycling legs and propping your butt up!

As for testing early, I didn't really tell him when I was testing until I got my BFP.

  29. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@anyajenkins: you should wall MrsMcCarthy or ask her on the POAS thread - she has all the details.

  30. septca

    @delight: I am also a secret tester...

  31. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

@littlek: I like testing early (the earliest I do is 10dpo) because I want to know if I'm getting pregnant but then losing it before I get AF...so basically to see if I'm having chemical pregnancies.

  32. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@littlek: I've heard that you shouldn't prop your legs up because it actually pools the sperm BEHIND your cervix rather than on it. I've heard that if you want to prop some, just a rolled up towel is enough.

  33. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@littlek: I told him I should get some tests at the dollar store and he was like "i know an even cheaper pregnancy test - wait and see if you get your period"

  34. LBee

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

@littlek: We did BD ED when we got our BFP. Walling you about the other O question... agree with @Delight, my husband would kill me if I didn't respect a degree of his privacy.

  35. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

We def cannot BD everyday. Even EOD is a struggle sometimes so we're trying to concentrate the effort! I'm hoping using OPK this cycle will tell me when we need to DTD most!

I never tested the past 2 cycles before AF is due. I a) don't want to waste a test and b) don't want even more disappointments.

  36. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@septca: when I was TTC I started testing super early, like 8DPO. I did not want to share that with DH!

I am excited to start TTC #2 this summer. For those TTc#2, when did your periods start to regulate? When did you start charting again? I've had two periods now at 6 months PP, but haven't started temping or anything. I kind of want to soon though because I had a short LP the first time and want to know if it's going to happen again.

@Freckles: my new napro fertility clinic recommends to wait half an hr then go to the toilet. I asked the question and apparently if it isn't up there by then it ain't getting up there ever...all the good sperm swim up really fast.

All I have to say is that I'm PISSED that I have endometriosis (most likely) and have to have laparoscopy this week. I'm also very scared for the surgery and the outcome. BUT I'm very hopeful that IUI next cycle will work!!

  39. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@CatchAFallingStar: ((hugs)) I was SO angry at my body when I found out. I was beyond pissed that my body had let me down. But I was even more angry with myself that I had put off surgery for so long. I really hope you get answers and have a swift recovery.

@delight: my period returned pretty quickly, but my cycles are off. I think I will need to fully wean before they normalize.
