I have started to look at daycares for DS since I would like to go back to work soon. I have noticed many of them have webcams online for parents to check in on their kids.
I am not sure how I feel about them. On one hand it would be great to see what he was doing during the day. On the other hand, hearing about baby monitors getting hacked it freaks me out a little. But I am paranoid 
Does your daycare have webcams? If so do you think they are beneficial?

The daycare we chose does not have them for outside viewing, specifically due to concern over child predators possibly hacking into their system. Once I learned why they chose not to have them, I was just fine without them.

I would worry about hackers and helicopter parents. I never felt like it was necessary and our daycare didn't have this.

Some places we toured had cameras, but were only viewable at the facility in the main office.

Ours has cameras but they aren't available online.
The other reason is student security and privacy. Similar to how they can't tell you the name of the child that bit your kid, your child could be targeted if a parent saw something they didn't agree with.

@T.H.O.U.: hmm maybe I am just interpreting that they are online and it's not. Maybe they mean "we have cameras and you can come view them if you think something is wrong" type of thing. I will have to go back to the website and look and ask when I do tours.

@MamaJ: No, I do know many that do post them online.
Ours has a parents lobby with a large screen where you can ask to watch the room but its closed circuit so its not that accessible and can't be hacked.

I have given this a lot of thought as my 1 year SAHM status will be over in the blink of an eye (so sad!) but I still am not sure if the benefits outweigh the cons. Finding the right care giver was such a challenge for us in the very beginning so I opted to be a SAHM temporarily. I would love to see my child whenever I wanted but the thought of hackers & child predators doing the same is really scary.
