My baby loves her thumb. She's recently started slipping it in the side of her mouth while nursing. I gently pull it out and she sticks it right back in. This goes for the entire nursing session.
What do I do about this? If she nurses while sucking her thumb too, will that affect my supply or anything, or just make a mess?
She is not cooperating with me removing it.

DS did this too, so annoying! It eventually stopped. Maybe give her something else for her hand?

DS does this, but with his other fingers. It's been going on a while but he seems to be doing it less and less. It hasn't affected my supply. If your LO is content after nursing, has plenty of wet/dirty diapers and is gaining weight, I wouldn't worry. I think they just don't realise they can't have everything in their mouth at all times!

Ha, LO 2 went through this too. I pulled it out of her mouth and she stopped eventually!

Both my boys did this. I agree to give her something to hold in her hand, also I would keep pulling it out or just hold it out if she'll tolerate that. How old is she?

@FaithFertility: @shellio: 4 months this Wednesday. it is a constant game of in/out, haha. she won't hold anything else but I keep trying a nursing necklace!

@sorrycharlie: could you try feeding her in a loose swaddle / wrap so her hands are contained?
