R doesn't seem to get a sippy cup or a straw cup. She will put the sippy cup in her mouth but won't suck. Have tried a couple different ones. We tried a Zoli cup and she chews on the straw for a second and then just like the sippy cups bangs it on the high chair. Day care said she will hold it but that is all.
I also don't think she likes water. If we put water from a straw, let it drip in her mouth, she lets it drip right out of her mouth.
Any advice? Tips?

Not sure I have much advice, but this is what we did with Xander. We tried a sippy cup, but he totally didn't get it, so we've been using the Zoli with more success.
Whenever we do solids, I give him the Zoli cup with water while I get his food ready. He usually just bangs it around and drops it on the floor. Then when I'm feeding him, I'll stop after every few bites and hold the Zoli to his mouth with the straw. At first he didn't seem to get it, but he eventually start mouthing it like he was trying to suck it like a bottle, and now he's figured out how to actually suck the water up. Once he figured that out, he'd let the water just fall out of his mouth, haha. But NOW he actually is drinking it.
Now when I feed him, whenever he reaches for the Zoli cup or brings it to his mouth, I fix it so the straw is in his mouth to drink and I offer it to him after 2-3 bites of solids. He seems to get it now, though he still can't get it into his mouth without help. Not sure if maybe just keep offering it to R more will help her?

I would just keep trying and maybe offer a cup with a spout as well?

it was hard to teach LO how to suck a straw, so we actually used regular plastic straws at first and cut the lower part short so it fit into a little cup. and then we made exaggerated sucking motions from the straw, and then we'd put the straw in her mouth. she eventually figured it out and then she did it with her straw cup. i feel like the straws that come with the straw cups are harder to suck through because they're made not to leak, so that is why we started with a regular straw at first. she'd always let 80% of the water spill out of her mouth because she was "playing", but over time she got better at it and now only lets it spill out occasionally.

My DD used a NUK soft spout sippy with great success. I didn't give her a zoli straw cup until she was 11 months!

@Adira: I will try offering it more. She will probably get pissed cause I am not giving her food fast enough.

It took my son awhile to figure it out. We just kept offering him a straw cup and finally around 10 months he figured it out. A few times we blew into the straw and it makes the water come up. So we would do that and then stick it in his mouth so he realized liquid came out of it.

We used the playtex little grippers cup and squeezed the cup and the water was pushed up to her mouth, she would take little sips then she learned to suck and has been drinking out of a straw cup ever since

Tommy tippy sippy cups actually let a little bit of water drip out (totally a pain once they're older and want to pour it out) however, it was great in teaching him what was going on and he eventually figured out how to get it out faster. After that he could figure any of them out

Food pouches were the key for us (completely unintentionally) for LO to understand the straw! Never ended up figuring out the sippy, we're a straw cup house

@Smurfette: First we did regular straws out of our cups, then the playtex straw sippy, and only after he turned 8 months did he "get" the Zoli.
