DS2 is 19 months and has been a solid sleeper for most of his life. We used to be able to go through his routine (bath, jammies, brush teeth, books, song), put him in his crib and then he'd sing a little and fall asleep. All of a sudden, starting this past Sunday, he has freaked out whenever we put him in his crib. At first I thought this was because I was out of town on Saturday night and he's a huge mama's boy. He has a daybed in his room and as long as I was laying with him on the bed, he would be happy and fall asleep. I was able to transfer him back to his crib that night after he fell asleep and he slept through the night.

Every other night, he will wake up as soon as you move him and freak. We've tried CIO (he just stood in his crib crying "mommy" for an hour) and we've tried laying on the floor next to the crib so he knew we were there (same as before). As soon as we put him in our bed, he turns over and falls asleep.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? I'm hoping it's a phase that will end on it's own as I don't think he's ready to not be in his crib. But was going to start researching floor beds. Any thoughts?
