I know this is just a forum and I should ask my pediatrician if I'm overly concerned but I thought I would throw it out there.
My lo is almost 10 months old. She nurses in the morning, gets three 4oz bottles at daycare and almost religiously leaves an ounce of breastmilk in each (be still my heart). She started doing the same thing a couple of months ago with 5oz so, I dropped the bottles down to 4oz bottles.
She gets 3 meals a day plus a snack (sometimes). Her schedule goes like this:
6am Nurse
8am Breakfast w/water
9am Bottle
12pm Bottle
1pm Lunch w/water
3pm Bottle
3:30pm Snack
5pm Nurse
5:30pm Dinner w/water
6:30pm Bedtime comfort nurse
That schedule has not changed since she started leaving ounces. She gets water with her meals. I'm wondering if maybe she is getting too much water at meals and therefore doesn't want milk at bottle times? Is that possible? Has anyone else run into this where their lo really started dropping ounces?
If she leaves an ounce of milk in each bottle, that means she is getting just 9oz of milk during the day. Doesn't seem like enough to me....
Thoughts?
Note: she is happy and is gaining weight along her growth curve.
