So Xander (14m) is FINALLY starting to eat table foods. BUT he's only eating grains. He's eat bread, toast, Chex, Cheerios, crackers, etc. But put anything else in front of him (fruits, veggies, meat), and he'll just throw it on the floor, often without even trying it.
I have been offering him table foods first (crackers with fruits and veggies), and then when he's done throwing all the fruits/veggies on the floor and eating the crackers, I'll give him his normal purees (which have everything from fruits and veggies to meats and grains). But should I stop offering the purees? How did you know to transition fully to table foods? And how do you get your kids to eat something other than carbs?
Any advice would be appreciated!
but what really helped was when we started throwing our schedule around to accommodate a family dinner. He still eats more and is more adventurous if I/we eat together with him. It was quite an act because before DH and I just ate once LO was in bed. It was definitely worth it though.
