My 3 month old has recently started waking up after 30 to 40 minutes of napping. Sometimes I can rock him back to sleep for another 15 minutes or so, but usually not. By early afternoon he's overtired and cranky, by late afternoon he's hysterical. He used to take great long naps.
I understand this is a sleep cycle thing. I've done some reading on possible techniques to help: the shhh pat, pick up/put down. And some people seem to say it's a developmental thing that baby will sleep longer when he is ready.
Any success stories? Can I fix the curse of the short nap or am I stuck with this? I am going crazy and my baby is so tired and unhappy!
