I got my period back at 6 months pp--LO1 had only just started solids and was otherwise breastfed--and accidentally got pregnant that cycle.

The pregnancy seemed to affect my supply--although I think it's also possible I was just over-anxious due to early pregnancy--and so we started supplementing at 8 months. LO1 was over nursing at 10 months, so we stopped.

It took us twelve months to conceive our first baby and only two months to conceive our second while bf'ing! AF returned at around fifteen months pp and I think I only had three or four periods before falling pregnant again. My big girl was 20ish months when we got our BFP and nursed right through until she weaned at 3y3m.

I got pregnant 4x while nursing DS2 (the first two times was nursing around the clock, the third time was nursing 3-4x a day, the last time was almost totally weaned). I lost them all. My doctor didn't it was necessarily related but I do. I had a loss panel done and my numbers were normal with the exception of low AMH, which can be associated with diminished ovarian reserve (but taken alone may not mean anything). She referred me to a fertility specialist, but then I got and stayed pregnant the first cycle we were totally weaned.

Definitely chart so you have some idea of what your body is doing. I got my period back around 9.5 months while still nursing Xander, but my LP was really short, only ~8 days. It wasn't until I weaned down to once a day that it lengthened and I was able to get pregnant.
