@bluestriped bee: As much as i was excited to see your BFP, I think you made a really smart decision for everybody involved: the unborn baby, you and your DH. I'm sure things would eventually, truly work themselves out. And then you can decide what next from there, Good luck all the way.

@bluestriped bee: It takes a strong woman to come out and say what you've said publicly and make a decision like this. ((hugs)) to you and I hope things work out as you hope in the end!

@bluestriped bee: I'm sorry you are both going through this and that you have to take a break! You're very brave to deal with it head on, and I so respect you taking a break for the sake of your marriage. Wishing you a time of restoration and rejuvenation in your marriage!

@alison206: ugh that sucks!!! Seems normal though. Maybe think of it as your body flushing out and getting totally ready for a new pregnancy

10 DPO, BFN. I was so so so tired this AM and yesterday. My boobs are kinda sore and I've been having weird cravings- for example I haven't drank Coke in years and I just had to have one the last 2 days and this mornings I NEEDED a muffin....

Today is CD 8 and I am still waiting for AF to leave. Started charting on day 2 and started using OPK on day 7 so we shall see how this goes! I'd hate to miss my O!

So, while we are doing this cycle a little differently then most of you (we're doing IVF), I still wanted to give an update. I had my egg retrieval yesterday after a week and a half of injections at home (my DH is the best nurse!) and we got 39 eggs. Of those, 25 fertilized overnight last night and 3 more were possibilities. This means we have a lot of little embryos at the lab!

We will be doing a transfer back into me on Sunday and then I will be PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise). We are tentatively scheduled to have our first blood test for pregnancy on July 10th, but I might be POAS beforehand since I am so excited!

Best wishes to everyone this cycle!

I'm not worried yet. I got negatives last time on 11 and 12 DPO and then a positive on 14 DPO, so I'll just wait and see....

I got a BFN yesterday at 9 or 10 DPO. I know it's still early and I'm hanging onto hope because of a couple things, but I'm also trying to mentally prepare for it not to be our month. At least, I'd spend July in good company!

So I messed up my temp on Monday and I didn't get one logged into FF. This is my 3rd morning of high temps and FF is saying that ovulated on Sunday and not Monday. I got a positive OPK on Sunday, and doesn't that mean you will ovulate within the next 24-48 hours? We BD on Sat and Mon morning, so I am hoping we are covered there.

  28. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@Smurfette: So, on Monday you never took a temp? Bummer. But no biggie, really. Worst case scenario is that you're farther into the TWW than you think, right? What's wrong with that?

As for your OPK, ovulating on Sunday, I always took the 24-48 hrs as "you should ovulate by the time 24-48 hours is up". But, even if I'm wrong with that definition, your body is a biological system. Biological systems don't always conform to the rules that we set out. There are probably a small percentage of people that ovulate after 3 hours and there are probably some that O after 53 hours.

  29. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Grace: Well I took my temp but I never looked at it. It beeped it was done and then I got to go the bathroom. Then later I went to check it and I missed seeing it on the screen. Not like I could redo it. Oh well, I don't think that it is that big of a deal. I just worry now that if I ovulated on Sunday that we missed our window since we didn't BD on Sunday. Since we had to BD on Mon am, cause it was our last chance for the week, that we didn't need to on Sunday since I thought I would ovulate on Monday. Maybe I did on Monday but since I missed my temp FF is just going with Sunday.

I guess now I learned my lesson, always look at the temp even if not going to log in right away!!

@GreenThumb: I am SO SO SO excited for you. I met up with a friend last night who has an 8-month-old conceived via IVF and she said she doesn't even remember the injections and the anxiety now This is so awesome for you! Apparently they froze her extra viable embryos so they're all set when she's ready to try for #2!! So cool!

@Smurfette: Since you got the positive OPK you should be all set and well into your TWW!

As far as me - i feel like I should just bow out this cycle I'm feeling so discouraged by the lack of OPK in light of not enough BD last week and no charting so I either didn't ovulate or didn't BD at the right time. Went out for sushi last night so definitely not feeling like I'm in a TWW

  31. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@Smurfette: But if you ovulated on Sunday, then all those millions of sperm were already there waiting for it! You're still covered!

@JoJoGirl: I'm sorry, you feel discouraged, but you never know! Could be that the test didn't pick it up and maybe you flukily BD at the right time. Don't give up. You could have a LO cooking in there right now!

  32. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@JoJoGirl: Sorry that you are feelig discouraged! You never know. You could have tested the OPK at the wrong time, or your urine was to diluted. Don't give up yet. This cycle isn't over till AF shows up.

  33. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Smurfette: @Grace: Thanks ladies. If OPKs can be too diluted, that was probably what happened - I was being really good about staying hydrated last week so was ripping through like 64 oz of water, a cup of coffee and sometimes a green smoothie in the morning before i tested. Not so smart. I just hate the unknown! Gonna keep testing til Friday and then give up (CD23).

This whole experience is seriously giving me new respect for that whole 'miracle of birth' thing - seriously, how many stars have to align for conception!? My goodness.

  34. Smurfette

@JoJoGirl: Have you watched the documentary The Great Sperm Race? It is fascinating. It amazes me that anyone gets pregnant.

  35. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Smurfette: Haha no! We just watched The Business of Being Born and that was scary enough. Synopsis? Or will it make me even more discouraged?? Haha.

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@JoJoGirl: They basically go through the whole process of how the sperm travel and meet the egg. But they have people as the sperm and show them in real environments like what the sperm are really going though. For instance, when the sperm are making there way out of the guy is like a ton of people all jammed into a water slide making their way down the slide. It is really interesting. I watched it on you tube in different parts. About an hour all together.

What is the business of being born?

@JoJoGirl: jojo, keep in mind that BOBB is very much a viewpoint movie. It's done very well to give one particular skewed perspective. It scared the bejeez our of me, and I know better! It was still in the back of my head when I had Lala, and it was only with some time and distance that I realized that it was designed to do what it did to me, and that that viewpoint in no way reflects everyone's reality!

  38. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Mrs. Jacks: Oh I definitely picked up on the fact that the movie had an agenda.. but it was a viewpoint I've never been exposed to before (having never been pregnant!), so if anything, it was interesting to see "the other side". I come from a family of MDs (no peds but one OB/GYN) so figure it's good to see all perspectives before making any decisions.

@Smurfette: Maybe I'll look that one up with DH this weekend! Business of Being Born: http://www.amazon.com/The-Business-of-Being-Born/dp/B0054LZ0VO
