Has anyone given their LO milk that is sold in those small juice boxes? I saw ones made by Horizon Organic at the grocery store but the idea that the milk doesn't need to be refrigerated seems strange to me. Thoughts?

I keep those in my desk drawer for mornings when I can't get breakfast.
They're ultrapasturized, just like the cartons sold in the dairy cases.

Its fine! I buy the chocolate milk ones for me. Once its opened it must be refrigerated.

I don't get those at all! I used to drink them when I was little. My mom would buy me the small chocolate milk ones!

oooh. I've never seen these, but it sounds just like the boxed milk that they sell in larger containers in Europe. It should be totally safe, and that is a great idea for bringing milk on an outing where you can't refrigerate. DD is a milk fiend, so I always try to find a way to get some milk for her.

Interesting! Maybe I'll buy some. We're traveling soon and they would be convenient to have for LO in the airport. I don't drink milk, and the concept of unrefrigerated milk is new to me. Thanks!

Totally safe! They do have a shorter expiration date though so keep an eye on them.

When we were in st Barth NONE of the milk wa refrigerated and it didn't expire until 12/13 which freaked me out until I realized Europe pasteurizes their cows milk differently which allows for a longer shelf life and no refridgeration. Totally normal.

Totally safe, and lots of milk in other countries is sold like that!

i buy them for myself. Trader Joe makes them too and they're a little cheaper (not sure if its organic though)

Forget Europe -- right here in Mexico none of our milk is refrigerated until it's open, organic, non organic or whatever. Tetrapaks are an amazing creation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrapak

@bunnylove08: I'll definitely check TJ's, thanks! We feed LO their organic milk, hopefully they sell it in boxes too.
