Hi.. Has anyone used crinone? It's an internal progesterone cream. Is it better to take at night or day? How does it effect your BD life? I'm 6 dpo and need to start by tomorrow. Help! Lol

i took crionine. it's better to take it at night i think because it leaks. definitely panty liners are needed! other than that, it's not that bad. i didn't take progesterone and miscarried, and i took it with charlie and he stuck!

@Wispy: Hi there, lady! I took Crinone, and other than the fact that it is one of the reasons I believe Baby H got off to a healthy start, I'm going to be brutally honest: It is disgusting and it sucks ass:)
My RE's nurse told me to take it at night, because it won't immediately leak out. But I read you can do either, and regardless of how quickly the cream stuff comes out, the progesterone itself will have already stuck to the vaginal walls.
This is gross but you need to know: The progesterone will "ball up" into these off-white/yellowish balls way up inside your V. If you don't clean them out, they will cause irritation. I was scared to clean this out (yes it's exactly what it sounds like, you have to do a nice finger swipe up in there a few times and get all the old balled up crinone wads out of there), because I thought it was taking Prog away from my body. But the wads that are stuck up in you are just a byproduct of the progesterone. It's not progesterone - that's already gone to your vaginal walls. And eventually I got irritation, so I had to try it out, and it made an immense difference.
I would do a nice cleanout sesh if I thought DH and I might be getting frisky that night, and then I'd wait until afterwards to put in the Crinone. There is nothing sexy about it. I felt disgusting the whole damn time. I got off of it at 12 weeks and it was like - the best day ever.
ETA: But after two chemical pregnancies back to back, this third baby stuck and I'll never know if the Crinone is the reason, but I kind of tend to think so! I wasn't on Crinone for the first 2...

Thank you ladies.. I know if I get my sticky bfp this month it will so be worth all the ickiness! Lol. I think I will go the evening route. And sounds like I'm gonna be doing finger sweeps ewwww.

Like Mrs. Bee, my first pregnancy resulted in in a m/c and I am pretty certain it had to do with my falling progesterone levels. This time around I did the vaginal inserts 2x a day (morning and night). Night time, right before bed, is the best option and I stopped the morning dosage around week 10/11.
Definitely do your BD'ing BEFORE you insert! And you might have some build up to contend with (blech). Also agree, pantyliners are a must!
Best of Luck and wishing you a sticky bean!

I took it and would insert it (deep) before going to sleep. I'd wear a panty liner too! If you're having sex, make sure to use it after because it's messy.
It will make you a bit sore or tender the first couple days...or at least that's what I noticed during BDing.
Hmm what else....
I can say that it works....my doctor called me at 7am to tell me to basically prepare myself to loose my pregnancy:( because my prog levels were thaaaat low). Well, got on prog until I was 14w and look at us now! I'm 39w1d along and have had a flawless and perfectly healthy pregnancy thank God. So, good luck! You're getting off on the right foot!

Thank you ladies! I'm sorry so many of you have suffered a mc. I had an ectopic mc in the spring (such an awful thing to deal with). But it sounds like the progesterone cream has been super effective for you! I'm grateful my dr will start me on it prior to a BFP ( fingers crossed this is my cycle that I get it). Best wishes ladies!!!!

I used it too, and never did any "finger sweeping," and was never told to. It just sort of...came out, in little wads, every few days. Which was as gross as it sounds.
Another warning: it is progesterone, so it mimics a lot of early pregnancy symptoms. Don't get your hopes too high when you have sore boobs and some nausea; it can be the crinone.
And good luck!!

I took progesterone morning and night. If I knew I was going to DTD I would wash myself and sweep, and delay the night dose.
Like @turtledoves I was told to prepare myself for the worst based on the initial progesterone evens. 30wks later little guy is still squirming away in here.

I'm taking it now but it's not a cream, it's a pill suppository, I guess...It's called Endometrin and it doesn't seem to be as bad as Crinone or the gel suppositories but I do still need a liner because some of it comes out sometimes...I'm only on my second day of it but so far haven't really had any symptoms...Good luck!
