I gave it sporadically. She was not a fan. Now that she's older, I mix it into her yogurt. You could also mix it into a bottle of pumped milk.

Carlson's vitamin D drops are one drop once a day. Babies never even noticed. I highly recommend them!

@Mrs. Jacks: this is what we used as well. One tiny little drop on my breast before nursing.

I nursed both and never gave either vitamin D drops.
@Mrs. Jacks: why are vitamin D drops recommended?

@chopsuey: there is no Vitamin D in breastmilk so doctors recommend the drops if you are breastfeeding.
@LAZB: my LO didn't like the enfamil ones either. We could sometimes sneak it into the breastmilk in a bottle but after a while(maybe a month) we just stopped giving them to her. Bad mommy I know but no adverse signs to not having it that I can see.

@chopsuey: breastfeeding babies, especially in northern latitudes do not get the recommended amount of vitamin D from breast milk (they do get some), but our modern diets are often Vitamin D deficient. When my level was tested, it was less than 20. Now I take 4000 IU/ day.

@Mrs. Jacks: wow, 4000 iu seemed like a lot, but then I checked how much I get/day and doesn't seem like such a big number anymore

Our daughter actually seems to like them. We're using enfamil divisol.

We used D Vi Sol at the recommendation of the doctor at the hospital but with her reflux we had to switch to baby d drops. Her doctor gave us a bunch of samples. It's much easier to give her.
