We had our wonderful LO 8 months ago after a successful IVF (frozen embryo transfer). It may sound crazy, but we are already thinking about trying for LO #2. I EBF and have yet to get my period back even though we have almost fully night weaned. I will have to have some tests and take at least 2 months of meds before we can attempt an IVF, and I also need to get my period back, so I'm considering weaning and switching to formula. But as much as I am eager to try for another baby, I am very sad and conflicted about stopping breastfeeding before she is 12 months. Oh, and I'm soon to be 36 and my SO is almost 39, so we are not exactly spring chickens ;). I wish I could just let things take their course naturally...

aw that's a hard decision (although exciting too!). that's wonderful that you've EBF for so long. weaning definitely carries a mixed bag of emotions. i felt sad about weaning even at the 1-year mark. no real advice, just wanted to lend my support. whatever decision you make will be the best one for your family.

that's tough! so if you wait til 1 year, then you still have another 2 months of meds, etc before you can do a transfer? Is there anything else you can do beforehand to get started that won't effect BFing? in the grand scheme of things, 4 months doesn't seem like much, but I understand that you're feeling a crunch.
