LO is 6 months and has been rocked to sleep since he was about 2 months old (when he stopped falling asleep spontaneously!). We want to gently wean him from rocking in the next few months.
I've looked up several methods and they all seem to be variations of "put down drowsy but awake". When our baby is put down drowsy, he becomes extremely distressed and/or hyperactive. There's no chance of him calming enough to fall asleep!
We're at a loss. How do we help him stay in a calm drowsy state? We aren't entertaining the idea of CIO and the gentler methods don't seem to account for babies who become wired when tired!
Any ideas? Thanks!
