Could you maybe mix your BM with WCM in a bottle/sippy cup? Your LO is approaching 12 months when 100% WCM is okay. Maybe that'll save you money from purchasing formula for the next 2 months till you can strictly use WCM.

is he already taking bottles? you can start mixing in a few ounces of formula with the breastmilk in a bottle, and gradually increase the amount of formula. if you are going to start him on bottles (or sippy cups or whatever), you could start with 5-6 ounces for a feeding (again, a mix of formula and breastmilk) and see how it goes.

or you could switch all at once, whatever is your preference--if your LO balks at the taste, then you can go the gradual route.

if your LO doesn't have any allergies/intolerances, then i imagine the switch will go alright. good luck!

@miramira: if he will be 11 or 12 months old when you stop nursing I would skip the formula and just go to cows milk (or whatever milk you are doing)
