Haha, I definitely just caught C eating dog food.... right out of the bowl. She already had 2 pieces in her mouth when I caught her.
Yep.

We've all been there. Or if not there, somewhere similar. Little Y totally almost scarfed a discarded yogurt bite he found on the floor of the mall play area not long ago. I also barely kept him from swallowing a rock, too.

I think eating pet food is a right of passage being a child... I'm sure we all did it at some point, either at our own homes or the home of someone else. lol

Nice! When I was a kid I used to love to eat cat food. I turned out ok (meow!)

My LO does this often!
A little kibbles and bits never hurt any body!!

Eh that's extra protein. The only reason we don't want him eating the dog food (I think of it as a rite of passage) is that it may have soy and give him a belly ache.

Hahaha...my LO has done this before and it actually took him longer than i expected to discover our dog's food! When I saw him going for it I just let him try it and he spit it out after contemplating it for a bit. As soon as my LO decides he doesn't like something he never goes near it again!

@brownie: I think of it as a rite of passage too! I knew it would happen eventually so I just let it!

It's cool, we found my friend's baby totally eating a dog treat that Rosie had left under the chair. It's even better when it's somebody else's kid!

Don't feel too bad! DS ate some of my brother's dog's food the other day. I wasn't even watching him, guess I should have been. I feel better about him eating dog food than some other kids food. DS picked up another kids discarded apple slice (half eaten) off the floor when I was in the waiting room of DD's gymnastics class. I swear I only took my eyes off him for a split second so I could see what she was doing. He got sick the next day :-(. He also ate his own poop after pooping in the bath tub. They might as well be little doggies!

On a side note, if a kid ate the food we feed our cats it would be really good for them! hahaha, our cats are on special diets that are all grain free and made with all natural organic ingredients

I will not even tell you what I have found our daughter eating when I've left her unsupervised for just a few seconds. It's too embarrassing. I think your baby will be fine. Don't worry about it.

Happened to us too! LO tasted it a couple times. Don't think she liked it. Now she just takes it and tries to feed the dog.

Our LO always creeps/crawls to the dog bowl, one of these days she'll get there before we do.

We all are then, that happens to me all the time. The interest in eating it will pass, mine still likes to put his hands in it, but not eat it so much anymore. Just watch for choking...
