DS will be 11 months on Friday and I am thinking about the transition to a solids based diet and feeling worried about it.
He has been sick quite a bit (thanks daycare ) and each time he's had a new cold or ear infection we have had a setback with eating. We've never been able to get him to eat consistently and thanks to the most recent illness I feel like we are back at square one. I've been told that eats at daycare but I don't have a sense of how much he is actually eating.
Currently, he gets 3 5oz bottles of breastmilk during the day and nurses at least 2 more times at home. We tried to drop a bottle to get him to eat more at the recommendation of our pediatrician, which was a disaster. We offer solids regularly he'll sometimes eat a bite or two but mostly he just plays and throws it on the floor. To complicate things, we are trying a dairy elimination diet to see if it helps with chronic ear infections.
I WOH and I am planning to stop pumping at a year. How do I make sure he will still get enough to eat/drink? What did you do at a year if your LO wasn't into solids?
