@brownie: bahahahahhaha OMG. YES!!! I am stopping dairy and soy a good 4 weeks before my due date just in case. Never again will I go through that....or put a baby through that.

@Espion: Oh good! I assumed that I would EBF, so I wouldn't need my pump until I was getting close to returning to work. I had no idea that my milk wouldn't come in and that I would need to pump to try to stimulate my supply.

Def more freezer meals and snacks! We had hardly any food when I came home from hospital and it was a bummer!

@brownie: why no soy or dairy in foods for pp?
@TurtleDoves: thanks for this thread! I've already favorited it so I have it in the future.

@brownie: good thinking! I totally forgot about that! My LO developed a milk protein intolerance later on, but I don't wanna risk it!

I wouldn't stress nearly as much. I was always stressed out that he was sleeping too much, not eating enough. I charted everything out, diapers, feedings, which side when, etc. As soon as I let go of the guidelines, DS was happier and things just fell into place.

I would take it easier physically. I look a couple walks that were too long (3 miles in the first week) and picked up my 22lb nephew too early. I worked out until my due date so I was used to doing things pregnant women weren't "supposed to" do and I thought it would be the same pp. It was not.

@Jennimac: my son was intolerant to both and he screamed for 12 to 15 hours a day as soon as we got home. It was horrible. I nursed and he cried and I nursed more and he cried. Never ever again.

I agree with the freezer meals! I have lucked out though and DH took over the cooking after C was born. If he hadn't, we would have eaten horribly for a long time!

@Lindsay05: That is so interesting about the pain meds because I had the opposite experience! I felt like my nurses were pushing stronger meds on me but I was fine with Motrin!
Next time around I will stress less about having a messy home. I chose to tidy up when LO was sleeping when I should have been sleeping too.

I will try to prepare more freezer meals

Not jump to every cry in the middle of the night and assume it's hunger. I now have an almost 20 month old who still wakes up 1-2 times a night
I will put my foot down and stand my ground when my step-daughters Mother demands that I come pick the girls up for their Daddy weekend when he isn't even home. No, not happening again.

Bring a baby home!
Plan ahead better for snacks. Meals were ok, cause people brought them, but we didn't seem to have enough snacks around during that time, since I never went to the grocery store for like 2 weeks.
