My husband'husband's bff said his wife can tell when she ovulates and of course mine wanted to know if I could too. Freak if I know??
Pretty regularly I feel pain near my Left side rib cage. I haven't tracked this before to determine if this happens during certain times during the month. But, now I am curious is this pain coupled with my CM mean I am ovulating?
So, for those of you who know via physical symptoms when you ovulate what does it feel like?

For me, mittelschmerz felt like a sharp, focused, pulling/pinching pain on whichever side I was (presumably) ovulating from that month. It usually went away in a matter of minutes, and I definitely didn't feel it every month. It was very low in my pelvis, about 1-1.5 inches below the line my hipbones make across my body.

I don't feel anything, I never have. I had to use OPKs to confirm I was ovulating.

Mine almost feels like a kidney infection for about 4-6 hours.

I have only felt it on my right side since taking clomid. It feels like a pinching/twisting in the ovary for 3-5 mins.

Mittelschmerz! I'm one of those unlucky women that can always feel ovulation. I usually have an ache in the uterine area, like I'm about to get my period and sometimes sharp, pulling pains. I usually feel it on my right side and one of the reasons I thought I might be pregnant when I was was because I felt a weird sensation on my left ovary (I never feel that one!)
One time it was so bad I thought I had appendicitis. It can last days sometimes.

I have a sharp pain near ovulation, but it's sometimes 1-2 days before I ovulate. My CM usually becomes creamy vs EWCM within 1-2 days after ovulation.

Based on the descriptions everyone has so kindly shared, I am pretty sure that I cannot feel myself ovulate.

I wouldn't worry too much if you can't feel it...some people swear they know when they've ovulated based on the pain, but actually the pain can happen days before or after! So it's not the most accurate way to pinpoint ovulation anyway.

@thismustbetheplace: I had no idea it was called mittelschmerz! I was thinking, "How in the world did 'ovulation' autocorrect to 'mittelschmerz'?" until I saw @mrsjazz: post it as well, and then I googled. So interesting! I also don't think I've ever felt it before.

Mine was more of a dull ache than pinchy... And it was very subtle. Only when I was ttc and really paying attention could I feel it. I'd usually feel pain for a day or two. At least twice O was confirmed on ultrasound as the same side I was feeling the pain, but that's the only way I knew for sure because it was so subtle!

I can feel my follicles growing rather than the eruption with releases the egg so ovulation actually seems to coincide with the pain stopping for me.
